I’m a little surprised that they wouldn’t post it, but I’m having trouble seeing how that’s shady. They sent it to everyone in the union and it’s not hard for others at the agency to get a copy. Maybe there is some rule with the arbitration that it is not truly a public (as in outside the agency) document, although that would surprise me. Since you are so troubled by them not posting it, what’s your theory? It’s all well and good to call it shady AF but how? What’s the actual agenda or angle you think they are playing here? Or do you just want to rant with your tinfoil hat on? |
That’s pretty much what a union is… |
Weird flex to hold up Schedule F as some kind of way to p0wn the union. Who do you think will fight Schedule F in court and lead the effort to reverse it once Trump is gone? You have some kind of personality issue going on. You hate the union because you feel like they are “mean girls” yet you desperately want to be first on the list when the “mean girls” have a party. If only you could accept that the existence of the union isn’t some kind of threat to you, then you could just, you know, join the union like the rest of us and get access to all of the info, and also pay your fair share for the benefits of the union, then you would be much happier. But this would threaten your identity as being “too cool for the union.” 🤷 |
You pay $600/yr?! NP not the one arguing - at the SEC 10 yrs and never joined - I mean $6000 saved isn’t nothing?! I mean what do you really get - I’m still BU so I get what everyone else gets. No I haven’t seen the telework opinion but I don’t particularly care - PA will do what he does whether I read the opinion or not. As for being fired - if you needed union representation bc something came up you could join the union then - and have saved $600/yr for whoever long you’ve been w the agency. |
If everyone did what you do (free riding) there would be no union. It's like asking why you should pay taxes when you only need the fire department sometimes. You earn a nonstandard salary the union negotiated, of which the dues (I believe it's sliding scale?) is a tiny drop. Join or don't, but the whining about dues is pathetic. |
Paying taxes are required. Union dues are voluntary. Big difference there. |
PP wasn’t talking about posting the OPINION. They were talking about posting the NEWS of the arbitration win. Like, perhaps in the news section of the sec nteu website. Shady AF that the website is crickets on this. |
Why? The NTEU sent an email on its listserv announcing the decision. It did the same with the HHS decision. You sound like a pathetic lonely person PP. Clearly your life is so empty that you need this to obsess about. |
Somebody’s a little sensitive about this. I wonder why. Don’t get your panties in a bunch. Don’t pretend it’s not weird to have a big website with News announcing every mundane silly event related to federal unions, but then failing to mention one of the biggest opinions that lots of people had been waiting for. Why have a news section at all, if events are just emailed on the “listserve.” Are you really this obtuse? |
DP. Again join the f’in union!!! Nobody cares that you wish the website was updated for the convenience of *non-union members.* But if you care to know - what I have heard is that union reps and the unions are slammed with work and drowning in the cases and grievances. So no, I don’t think that making sure their website is 100% up to date is something they are focused on. The news went out to the members. |
To the obnoxious posters who hate unions you do actually work for the SEC, I sure hope you’re not an attorney. It is highly likely the union doesn’t want to rub the ruling in the Commission’s and Adminstration’s faces publicly as a negotiation strategy |
That's my take as well. If there is any chance of a settlement, however small, I think a lot of publicity will lower that chance with little, if any, corresponding benefit. |
How naive are you? There’s nothing to stop the agency from just ignoring the arbitrator’s decision and dragging it out for years. The GC at the FLRA is vacant. That’s probably why they didn’t post the news on the website — bc it’s meaningless? |
Ummm... news flash: SEC NTEU membership does NOT include insurance against firing. NTEU will pretend to offer protections but in the end does what mgmt needs done. If your slot is needed so someone else can get promoted or for budget reduction, you're out! It's a charade. . |
