This is an awful situation, on so many fronts.

Strathmore

BSO and NPO are already in there.

And all of this goes way beyond finding a new space for the NSO. Time to look at the bigger picture of what is happening. Where are the big protests? We’re fighting too many disparate battles right now and need to unite this into a much broader resistance.

Clearly, it doesn't need a renovation.

They have had quite a few job listings lately. I sent my DH one as a joke - he is job searching a similar role, but nope, not applying there under this administration and that mess.

This leadership would have been fired if it were private sector. Business 101, know your customers, know your clients, don't offend them.

+1 I've seen a number of jobs posted by the KC over the last few months as well. What will happen to all the current employees? Most of the ushers are absolutely lovely as well and I'm under the impression that some have been there for ages.

CNN is reporting the real reason Trump is closing the Kennedy Centre for two years is not for renovation: “the Kennedy Center does not have a 2026/2027 season. There would not have been any programming to announce."

He's still going to take the opportunity to chisel his name into the marble.

Right but now he can avoid the humiliation of performers who are decent humans from cancelling and refusing to perform. This is all to save face.

I feel sorry for all of the workers who are losing their jobs. Trump started this dumpster fire but all the people proudly canceling shows and refusing to attend are causing workers to lose their jobs.

Yes, trump has forced millions of kids abroad to go hungry and hundreds of thousands of federal layoffs as well as hundreds of thousands of private sector layoffs, all for no reason other than to cause pain.

He’ll turn it into “luxury” condos. Anything to enrich himself and his cronies.

I heard a radio ad today for the “Trump-Kennedy Center” and I threw up in my mouth a little

This would be reversible. I am concerned he is going to tear it all down and start from scratch - and create a monstrosity in the process.
