I don't think the underpaid staff who took down the sign sabotaged anything, it would be way above their pay grade.

Either a Trump sycophant on the Kennedy Board ordered them not to remove the Trump name just yet... or, more likely, it was all removed, but because the Board is afraid of Trump, they want to hide that his name is gone for as long as they can.
