Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University

Democrat politicians and influencers better be careful. If Kirk dies, this will open the path to retribution…

If you are some sort of political figure, your likelihood of being shot is even higher.

Charlie Kirk was ok with this. I am not, but it seems absurd to give him sympathy when he is one of the architects of the current order that put himself in danger. I don’t want him to be shot- I don’t want anyone to be shot. But it’s important that political figures are not insulated from the reality that the rest of us all live with.

You raise a valid point.

Members of Congress have metal detectors at their workplaces. The capital is a gun free zone. The rest of us, and schoolchildren, do not enjoy such protections.

You people are sick.

No because MAGA believe conservative lives are worthy.

If he survives, the right will take it as a sign from God about his righteousness and they will double-down on anything against the Bible. He’ll likely run in 2028 as an actual Handmaiden’s Type candidate. FWIW people online are saying he’s stabilized now….

If he dies, it’s a rallying cry for the far-right to target liberals similarly.

Nothing good comes of violence like this. It should be condemned 1000%.

He would have run in 2028, and maybe won.

Some said “can’t have that”…
Will he be thirty five?

Turns 35 Oct 14, 2028.

I guess he feels that it's ok for him to die too so other people can keep their guns? Or does that make him an unprincipled hypocrite?

Before you come at me about his children, yes, I feel bad for them. They don't deserve him for a father. But did he feel bad for the children who died as a result of gun violence?

I'm too against violence. Maybe pro-gun folks should be asked this question - are you okay being shot by someone who is not supposed to have guns?

If this is true, it's literally a miracle. The video I saw on X did not show what appeared to be a survivable injury.

If you’re wealthy and famous then the medical system is amazing. There were EMTs at the event that could launch into action right away. That’s a luxury that our school children don’t have. Quite a “miracle” that hod doesn’t protect innocent children.

If you are a kid, we leave you bleeding out in classrooms for an hour before aid is rendered. It's the process. Can't be helped or changed. Pecking order and all of that.

But this is what Charlie Kirk wanted. (He just didn't want it to happen to him)

Is this a threat?

Democrats have already been targeted and killed. Next?

The whole quote in context of his full answer is less damning then you seem to be assuming.

He said he is 100% a gun violence reductionist, but wanted to be clear that a utopian existence of zero gun deaths was not achievable.

His whole thing, in particular, was trying to sit down and have respectful, open debate and resolving differences through exchange of ideas.

Everyone (US citizens, ONLY) have the right to a gun. But if you are talking about someone in our country illegally, no I am not okay being shot by them. They should be deported.

Somebody on CNN said he was stable and breathing.

Then he'll die from blood loss. He's a goner. Sad because he's a dad but also, the sacrifice Americans must make to protect our other rights.

Depends how quickly they stemmed his bleeding.

(Now he has access to transfusions. )
