But then parents should also vaccinate their kids. |
Yup, I looked this guy up. He’s already been found tampering with evidence to bolster MAGA, so no thanks. I don’t believe him because he’s bad news. “Jennifer Kerkhoff Muyskens, who has since left the U.S. attorney’s office for D.C., worked with a detective, Greggory Pemberton, to edit video of people planning protests of the president’s 2017 inauguration, and later falsely told the court about it, the D.C.’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel alleges.” “The disciplinary counsel alleges that Pemberton and Muyskens altered evidence that was central to the government’s case against the demonstrators. The pair excised portions of a protest planning meeting discussing nonviolence to bolster claims of conspiracy, thereby depriving defendants of evidence to counter the charges, the complaint states. The documents also allege Muyskens and Pemberton initially hid the video’s origins. The material came from Project Veritas, a conservative activist group that uses secret recordings to target the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/07/24/trump-inauguration-demonstrations-prosecution/ |
How about we just save some money and release the Epstein files? Trump has to know by now that his supporters will continue to support him after it becomes officially known what we all already know - Epstein was his buddy and Trump trafficked teen girls. |
Amazing that he can do this now but couldn’t on January 6th. |

There are agents in full riot gear with shields standing in front of the White House, per news footage. Ridiculous! |
Has the press conference started?

Huh?? Were you out on the 4th of July when kids were shooting roman candles at pedestrians, cars and buildings? It was lawlessness that I've never seen before in any country I've ever traveled to. Kids had taken over the streets. I actually saw cops watching it too. And then something caught on fire and the fire department had to be called in. |
Are the FBI out at Hechinger Mall busting the kids and zombies? The trash is still overflowing at our park. I’m ready for the FBI to take some action lol. But sounds like they don’t want to venture out of downtown 😂 |
Does this count as restricting freedom of movement? https://mpdc.dc.gov/release/chief-police-announces-juvenile-curfew-zone-navy-yard-2 |
Crime is down from its peak during and immediately post-Covid, it is not down to pre-Covid levels. The murder rate remains very high compared to pre-Covid. And juvenile crime, especially juvenile violent crime, is still up and at totally unacceptable levels. DC also continues to struggle with a high number of unhoused people since Covid, and this impacts a number of quality of life factors that don't show up in violent crime statistics. For instance, talk to local businesses about challenge they have with unhoused people coming into stores and restaurants to use the bathrooms, steal food, occupy tables, take naps, etc. Ask them if these issues are better or worse than pre-Covid. And I live in Ward 5, not 7 or 8. But btw people who live in Wards 7 and 8 also deserve safe communities, and crime was down across the river pre-Covid as well. One of the the worse outcomes of the crime surge in the last 5 years has been that it has halted progress in Wards 7 and 8 in creating safer, more prosperous communities, attracting more development and investment. This is bad for the city as a whole. Much of the crime you see in places like Chinatown and Navy Yard can be linked to problems in Wards 7 and 8 that result in bored, angry teens looking for trouble. It's all interconnected. You can't pretend like Wards 7 and 8 are just a different city that don't concern you. Again, Trump's "solution" is not what I want. But pretending there is no problem won't work either. I see this most often from UMC and wealthy people who live in parts of the city with the lowest crime rates to begin with. Where I live, I cannot pretend crime isn't an issue. |
Crime is down over 30% in the last two years and is at pre-pandemic levels. The only thing holding the city back is the GOP withholding a billion dollars of our own money from us. The GOP is literally the cause of cuts in MPD right now. |
Crime isn't rampant. stop watching Fox News. |
LOL at shooting roman candles on Independence Day being "lawlessness" never before seen in any country on earth. Kids are supposed to take over the streets and shoot off fireworks on the 4th of July. That's why the cops were watching and not arresting them. |
There is crime in every American city. Per Capita crime is HIGHER in red states. Sending stormtroopers into DC as a show of force by an authoritarian leader is not the solution. |
