Sorry, you want to put homeless people in a tent prison in the swamp why, exactly? |

Trump’s action scream, “stop talking about the Epstein files because I’m featured prominently in it!” Gotta flood the zone with imaginary problems. |
You think the rest of the country knows or cares about DC statehood or sovereignty? This story is a nothing burger to them or the national media. |
Then you don’t support federal resources being spent on this. And care about what’s in the Epstein files right? |
Correct, we have vacancies that would house all these homeless...but if they have no money, are you expecting landlords to put them up for free? Nobody is all that excited about voucher tenants (except for the landlords). What is the "facility" of which you speak? There aren't enough shelter beds for all these folks. |
Because only Nazis let homeless people take hard drugs and sleep in tents on the street, right? I remember when Dems were the ones who wanted to involuntarily commit mentally unstable people and Reagan was the one emptying them onto the streets. Letting homeless people sleep and OD on the streets is not “progressive.” It is libertarian and anarchist. |
I agree. And we need to see that some people need to be committed to inpatient treatment and mental hospitals even if they don’t want to be. This was 100% a Democrat position. It was right wingers like Ronald Reagan who wanted crazy drug addicts out on the street. So please spare me with this Nazi comparison. Right wingers are the ones who started this crisis in the 1980s. Dems need to go back to how they were in the 80s and stop being so soft on homelessness and crime as well. |
DC is the most dangerous capital city in the Western world. New York City has 79 more murders than DC this year. You want to guess how many more people NYC has? If DC is safe, what city is unsafe to you? Your metrics for safety need to be recalibrated. |
New York City has 7.5 million+ more people than DC and only 179 murders in 2025. DC has 99 murders. https://www.nyc.gov/assets/nypd/downloads/pdf/crime_statistics/cs-en-us-city.pdf Please tell us more about DC’s safety. |
No friend. I am expecting the federal government to actually try to solve the problem of homelessness, rather than continue to poor billions of dollars into the grifter programs and have people remain sleeping on the streets. I don't care if you or anyone else is "excited" about voucher tenants. The vacancies are there. These people need housing. 1+1=2. |
DC isn't even on the chart internationally. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_homicide_rate Just looking at US cities, DC isn't even in the top ten: https://www.security.org/resources/most-dangerous-cities/ |
+1. Not sure what the problem is with this. These people will be much better off wherever they are housed. |
No one who lives here, let alone around that corner think he is some innocent. He was scoring drugs and it went wrong. |
1. Addiction can be the result of misuse of prescriptions, which can be caused by negligence on the part of overworked or uncaring or ignorant doctors. This form of addiction can happen to any of us when we get powerful pain med prescriptions given for legitimate medical problems.
2. Addiction can be the manifestation of untreated mental health issues, such as severe ADHD, bipolar disorder, severe depression, severe anxiety, etc. Users self-medicate with drugs. Again, this can happen to anyone with serious mental health issues who does not receive a diagnosis and successful treatment. 3. Stop accusing addicts of being lazy or morally deficient or lacking willpower. I guarantee that if I give you the right cocktail of drugs, you will be an addict too, and will have a terribly hard time digging yourself out. And maybe you never will. |
