Why do you dislike law enforcement?

If your first move is to tell us to ignore what we've seen, don't expect us to be on your side. You're not on ours.

Every time a black person screws up, black people pop up everywhere to announce that those blacks are the exception...

Seems racist to you?

I need you to flesh this statement out for me. It makes no sense.

Perhaps try thinking about it. Spoon-feeding someone the obvious rarely enlightens them.

I figured you couldn’t explain it. No big deal. Good luck.

Google Jim Crow laws.

Look up the color of money.

We can teach a kindergartener calculus, you have to do some educating on your own part.

What is the penalty for stealing a carrots $1000? What is the penalty for insider trading and making $60K off it?

What happens when I can’t pay my bills? I’m evicted and homeless
What happens when a white male cant pay his bills? He declares bankruptcy, keeps all his assets, doesn’t pay me or you or anyone, renames his business and moves on. Well then I can’t pay my bills because he didn’t pay me.

Do you know what debtors prison is?

Don't steal.
Don't commit crimes.
Don't do or possess controlled substances.
Don't drive without a license.
Don't drive an unregistered car.
Don't drive an uninsured car.
Don't miss court dates.
Don't neglect to pay fines.
Don't neglect to pay court costs.
Problem solved.

Da comrade. Obey zeee rules! Be unt goot subject! All laws are just! Zeee state is always correct comrade!

Given the choice between living with you and living with the person who listed the rules, I’ll take the rule-follower.

Because you crave the illusion of safety rather than independence and accountability for yourself.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Ben Franklin.

He might have had a skullet, and a deviant with the older ladies, but he was right about that.

freedom x security = constant --Larry Niven

It's not a binary choice, but how much we decide to hand over to the state for enforcement. You really don't want me to start enforcing my arbitrary laws. I probably don't want you to start enforcing your strange idea of justice. We live in a society; we aren't sovereign citizens.

I really don't care. Just stay out of my way.

Your existence consumes resources that I might need.

The same could be said about you.
Peaceful people don't try to take from others. No laws or cops needed.
Bad people will attack you, regardless of laws and police, and cops aren't obligated to protect you.

Your ethics aren't my ethics.

They don't have to be. Nobody said that. But you have no right to tell others that your ethics should be universally obeyed either. See the disassociation that is going on?

If we aren't going to have a police force, I am going to enforce my ethics.

In my experience, cops have never helped when I needed help and have caused me unnecessary problems just because they could.

Nicely stated.
At best police are a nuisance.
At worst, they are an occupying enemy force.
Either extreme, they are not needed anymore. Probably never were.

MPD were dispatched to 622,593 calls in 2024.

That is a good example of how wasteful having police forces is. Tons of money could be saved cutting away most all police and a sizeable portion of the military.

"911, what is your emergency?"
"I have a cat stuck in a tree!" "My BF called me a bad name!" "I heard a noise outside and it's dark and I'm scared."

It must ruin your day to know that the DC police get more than 1 call per minute every minute of the year. Think about that every time you have a free moment. How many calls do they get while you’re in the shower? How many calls did they get while you write your next post?

Steroid and HGH abuse. Systemic racism. Abnormally high rates of domestic violence. Excessive compensation and disability retirement tax evasion schemes. Few bad apples spoiling it for the majority who possess integrity and truly want to uphold the law and make the world more safe for everyone.

Not sure I’d go so far as to say dislike, but manhandling 1/2 of the dream team that brought us Cherry Garcia doesn’t help.

I learned from the doctors on r/medicine that a very large percentage of male LEO take testosterone, on the order of 30%+ (I believe someone even had stats to back this up). It serves a psychological purpose for them.
I've run into a-hole cops and others who are decent people who have good insight into social issues.

Driver's license are gate keeping. You need 580 hours of education to cut hair. To drive a car, it's a 15 minute test. It's obviously just a money grab.

All "licenses" and "registrations" and "fees" and "permits" are just made up scams to extort money from obedient subservient submissive people.

So you don’t want your physicians to be licensed?

Personally, I have always had very positive interactions with police officers. I appreciate that they are there to serve and protect. I appreciate their service and I wish there were more of them.

Agree. But our view points out the absolute stupidity of supporting BLM’s defund the police movement. If you want better policing, provide more training; but training costs money.

Defunding the police guarantees worse outcomes for everyone. And yet: D.C. went along with it for years. I STILL see idiotic DMV residents with BLM signs on their lawns/in apartment windows.

Nonsense, they aren't set up to train well or hire good people. Throwing money at them gives them more military grade weaponry, thats it. We'd all happily fund police who didn't have intelligence bars to not hire those that do too well in testing. We'd fund good training for deescalation, thats gets lip service but the training has been proven to teach the opposite. We'd fund better oversight to remove and keep discriminatory/criminal/violent officers off the job and not skipping to other departments. They are not set up in a good way and very resistant to change. There are some departments that are better and some that are nothing short of evil. Too many are in police gangs, and circle ranks to enrich themselves/assault minorities/assault women and protect each other from accountability.

Assumption.

Military grade weaponry? Assumption again.

Anonymous wrote:We'd all happily fund police who didn't have intelligence bars to not hire those that do too well in testing.

Which departments in the DMV have these supposed "intelligence bars?" More assumption.

Anonymous wrote:We'd fund good training for deescalation, thats gets lip service but the training has been proven to teach the opposite.

Are you aware of the very active programs in the DCUM area? Keep assuming.

Anonymous wrote:We'd fund better oversight to remove and keep discriminatory/criminal/violent officers off the job and not skipping to other departments.

It sounds like you hate unions. You should do something about that.

Anonymous wrote:They are not set up in a good way and very resistant to change.

What's a "good way?" I look forward to this answer.

Anonymous wrote:There are some departments that are better and some that are nothing short of evil.

At least your consistent. It's all about assumptions. Evil is a strong word. There are certainly very good departments and there are also departments that have internal issues. It's a spectrum just like any other profession.

Anonymous wrote:Too many are in police gangs, and circle ranks to enrich themselves/assault minorities/assault women and protect each other from accountability.

Gangs? Enrich themselves? Through criminal enterprise? Roving bands of police that are there to assault minorities and women? This is crazy talk. You have no clue what you are talking about.

I'm with you. While we're all at home or work or asleep they patrol the streets 24/7/365. They miss birthdays, graduations and holidays. They witness good people on their worst days AND the worst people society has to offer. They save lives. They get spit on. They get attacked physically. Some people here hate them by sight alone. Still they come to work every shift and put in their 8-10 hours.

I have enough socialization with law enforcement to know that most of them are just lazy ass welfare kings and queens. Majority are also drunks and cheating on their spouses. Most of them don't lift a finger at work, yet we give these people on average $100,000 in compensation, let them drive around in $50,000-80,000 SUVs all day, and then a pension & health care after 25 years of sitting on their butts. Some of the lazy asses in major cities are bilking for $150,000 to $400,000 in wages via overtime scams! It is all a total waste of money.

Why don't you sign up for the job? Sounds like easy money.

It's not "socialization" if you're in handcuffs.

Do you qualify for welfare if you get paid $100K with an $80k company car, a pension, healthcare and over $150k in overtime?

How about this?

Money to pay for lawsuits against the police comes from the officers' retirement funds

Police don't get any benefits teachers don't
