I hope the TV and papers there resist Elon propaganda that is probably set to follow. Also, how much are we paying American solicitors to walk around Greenland? I thought we were isolationist? I thought we were about austerity?

I love that they thought Usha would be a draw. We don't even want her here in the DC area as evidenced by her and her idiot dh getting booed on date night. Why the f would someone who gets booed in their own town be a draw to Greenlanders.

I imagine Greenland mostly has a sleepy small town vibe just based off the tiny population. They probably find this whole thing annoying.

But what a comedown for US soft power. Not so long ago any second family member would have been welcomed everywhere. Even Mrs Pence!

Greenland would probably have been happy to see Ms Vance if Trump were not saying daily that "we need Greenland, we need to have Greenland". I mean, what? This unitary executive nonsense has really gone to his head.

Change of plans for the Vance's. New agenda that now keeps the Vances, Waltz and Wright far away from any major Greenlandic settlements appeared to assuage Greenlanders and Danes.

This is humiliating. Nixon was booed in a South America. Country when he was VP for US policies but no American President or VP has been told they were neither invited or wanted in any country. JD, Usha, and Waltz aren't even saving face!

If anyone is interested here is history of Nixon's motorcade being attacked in 1958.

The optics were going to be embarrassing. It was either going to be protests or totally empty crowds.

I’m sure Bukele and Puti-Poo would be happy to roll out the red carpet for them.

Is anyone else impressed how Greenland said no, and had no problems calling the visit what it was? There are only 57000 people in their country, but they seem tough!

Wait last I heard - like yesterday - JD was going with Usha and now the whole thing is canceled?

They will only visit the US base now and nowhere else.

Greenland was ok with that.

Mother wasn’t bad. She stayed in her lane and her husband stood up when it really mattered.
