Anonymous wrote:Yep MLSN really showed thier bravado this weekend in the ARL showcase...all those MLS next teams just crapped all over the ECNL teams--total blow out for every one of the games. Not even sure why ECNL teams bother to show up when the MLS next teams were just so superior on the field. So out of their league --can't believe they even matched these teams up for a college showcase.

Yet, MLS Next players are preferential recruits over ECNL for colleges

So setting your cynicism and sarcasm aside, the college soccer rosters don't lie.

Also, MLS Next teams are training and playing all year, against better average competition.
ECNL plays half a season. The other half is HS

MLS Next teams play about 40% more games than ECNL for the year

Thank you, MLSN Bot that posts the same thing everywhere.

Is it false?

Is it true, Vladimir?

The list goes on.

Receipts.

Philly Union 10s/U15s played up a year in U16 AND 09s/U16s played up a year in U17s. U19s played their age with younger players and won 2-0 and 4-2. https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/34321

What this shows is that biological growth and physical development can make a team seem much better than they are. THIS is a major problem with soccer in the US. Kids who are physically more mature are being selected by academies. That does not mean they will end up being better soccer players in the long run. There's a complete lack of foresight to look at those kids who are technically and intellectually sound. We know that all kids will grow physically. We need to do a better job of identifying those who will grow emotionally and intellectually while having the skills and physical potential to play at the highest levels. The world is full of great U15 players who stopped playing at 19, 20.

You just wanted to get that off your chest, because it had nothing to do with the PP

That aside, they aren't picking small, physically underdeveloped players at any academies in any country.

Physically more mature doesn't automatically mean you don't have technical skills and good soccer IQ. Many of you love to make that wrong assumption.

No scouts can tell which 11 year old will be able to handle the mental aspects at 18

Absolutely, they should expect quite a few departures on the girls side this spring.

Can someone elaborate on the gossip? Heard the same from a.nva parent but we did not have time to finish that conversation.

on girls side one coach skipping out on girls. And also a fight between two coaches. On boys side a coach fired. And at the time the 2 teams he coached had combined 1 win and like 20+ losses. Going to be a number of kids leaving.

I wish I had done more research into this club. I was sold many great shiny things and I’m disappointed at the mediocre level of coaching and expectations. We are wondering how difficult it’ll be to get the player card mid season and lose the money or should we suffer another 6 months with the subpar leadership and training.

Is this on the boys or girls side? You should be able to get your player card without a problem but probably not your money. If another team wants your child, they probably won’t charge you or just a minimal amount for the rest of the season.

yea you will have no problem getting your player card for transfer. They would be hypocrites given they allowed another ECNL kid to transfer to NVA recently.

Things are changing!

NVA is just moving earlier before the ECNL ship starts to sink. Super smart on their part.
