And played them well. Lots of college coaches watching those teams. M&D Shore (now part of the “M&D recruiting machine” was in the 27th bracket out of 28. And that is a pretty good team. I think Capital is doing ok.

Curious if you happen to know which bracket Cap Orange played in. Not trying to be snarky, genuinely trying to gather info if Cap Orange is similar in competition to other local teams. Taking a Cap Blue offer is a no brainer, I think everyone who gets one will happily accept. I’m on the fence if Cap Orange is worth switching from a club where my daughter is happy and valued.

Capital Orange parent here and the only teams I would put above Orange would be Capital Blue, Heros Green and M&D Black. We beat M&D Red multiple times, have many girls committed to excellent schools. Not sure what your current club is but unless it is listed above I would take Orange in a heartbeat.

At what year?

That was before they dropped in the rankings.

We’ve got it. You’ve made your point ten times. They also were up on Hero’s Green most of the game and lost a close game at the end. You can talk about the rankings all you want but the college coaches don’t actually care what you think and neither do the rest of us.

Capital is a competitive team, they are right where they should be, they will see lots of recruiting success.

Interesting that a Capital director went Skywalker Blue over Capital Orange for their daughter. It worked out well for her. That action speaks louder than typed words,

Why are there so many Capital "parents" from other graduation years on this forum? Your kid is going D1, we get it...CONGRATS! Why so bitter about where these 8th grade families decide to play? You got what you set out for, leave us inexperienced 29 parents alone.

Maybe younger siblings, either way, telling someone who has been through the process not to share their experience is a bold strategy.

Man those college commitments say it all. There’s really no arguing the facts. Whether you like capital or not…the numbers and schools speak for themselves! My daughter will be there!

Taking advice from an anonymous forum is pretty bold as well however younger siblings could be the answer. That does not answer why so many are so bitter...

The reason so many cap parents are on here going crazy trying to convince everyone that cap is awesome is bc they know that the HS-aged only club model is dying. They saw what happened to SW once coppermine started taking and keeping all of the kids in that area, and they are freaking out that it will happen to cap if a decent competitor exists in the area. Not sure if it will be m&d DC, or if the good girls will simply move to heros and the real m&d, but cap isn’t a lock for the best of DC anymore and it is freaking them out.

Thank you for a reasonable explanation.

As a Capital parent we are all hoping another club sprouts up to provide more competition. It would force Capital to improve some things to stay competitive.

Except all of the good players leave coppermine for better teams in hs. Check coppermine commitment history for proof. You disproved your own theory .. The value prop hasn’t changed: stay with M&D DC and bet your daughter’s future on an experiment. Make Cap Blue and you’re on a path with a proven track record. Not rocket science. DMV’s best used to have to travel to MD to compete at the highest levels. Not the case anymore.

My daughter is played on 2024 Cap Blue team and Capital did nothing for her recruiting process. We did it all ourselves, they have had a hold on the best girls on the DMV and I too am happy they will have some competition.
