How many players on the US Men's National Team were fully developed from youth level at clubs in the US?

How many of the 28 MLS Club academies are represented in the current U20's?

Point is our player pool in the DMV is weak on a national scale. Despite so many people thinking otherwise.

Whats funny is, majority of our men's national team spent some, most or all of their youth soccer getting developed outside the USA. Fact that can't be disputed.

Yet this person wants to say the DMV is the weak area.
Why isn't the rest of the country producing top national players?

Young and youth players are completely different. Once someone plays for club's senior men's (or women's) team, they aren't "youth" players anymore. A couple, other than the six, did play in another country. However, they were not in a youth team nor part of any academy set up. They were on a full senior men's team or the club.

Talent is the overwhelming factor for all of these players, physican tangibles and mental intangibles that are well beyond the reach of most coaches, good or bad. There are top-notch academies that have dominant academy teams that do not have a single player on national teams. Do you really think they are not developing those teams well? Or is it possible they are getting the most of the players that they have? You are massively overestimating the difference that any club or coach can make, as are the clubs who take credit for players they coached for a year or two. Give me a break.
