Women half-naked in pseudo workout gear shopping at Whole Foods?

Anonymous
I think they’re wearing shapewear. The idea is to wear it 24/7 to lose weight. That’s why some women gare wearing it everywhere. They saw a Tiktok that said Spandex wear 24/7 will help them lose inches around their waist. It’s probably related to Kim Kardashians Skims line.

The women dressed like that in Spanx usually aren’t really working out at the gym. It’s a way to show off the body (Kim K wear) and get attention while working out

We use our savings from the cheap food to buy shirts to put over our bras.

The poor whole paycheck people don't have that option.

This is the best reply.

Who is wearing Skims or Spanx to Whole Foods? That is bizarre. I live in NYC, and have seen people out wearing all kinds of stuff, but never just straight shapewear.

The people I see at Whole Foods in activewear (and I am one of them, frequently stop by on my way home from the gym or a run) are wearing sports bras and leggings from Alo or Lululemon or such. The clothes might be strappy/have cutouts/etc for style purposes, but it’s not shapewear.

The aforementioned Annapolis Whole Foods is literally underneath of a Lifetime. And they share a parking garages. And there is another gym 100 yards away. A ton of people go between the gyms and WF on regular basis, plus there are a ton of ladies of leisure in Annapolis who are workout regularly or wear athletic wear on a dialy basis and frequent WF.

Every time I hit up the grocery store after my Pilates class wearing my lulus and tank top I laugh to myself thinking that someone thinks I’m half naked. 🤣🤣🤣

Nobody is looking at *you*, you old bag. Unless it’s because they’re concerned about the possibly mentally ill woman walking around the store laughing like a lunatic.

To the women who shop in sports bras, why not put a shirt on over your bra? Or a hoodie. I expect to see bras at the gym. They have a function. Not so much at a grocery store.

You know sometimes people run errands after the gym or going for a run, right?

I get cold in stores and generally carry a layer with me, especially because I tend to get very chilly after a sweaty workout. And I never wear my sports bras (without a top) anywhere but home or going for a run. But I can't understand being this uptight about seeing a woman in a sports bra at a store. It screams insecurity or jealousy.

I can't believe this isn't a revival of a thread from 2005. Hasn't everyone come to terms with athleisure sightings and skimpy clothes?

DP, I think this was covered in the 20+ previous pages. You say insecure or jealous. I say thirsty and also insecure.
