I think they’re wearing shapewear. The idea is to wear it 24/7 to lose weight. That’s why some women gare wearing it everywhere. They saw a Tiktok that said Spandex wear 24/7 will help them lose inches around their waist. It’s probably related to Kim Kardashians Skims line. The women dressed like that in Spanx usually aren’t really working out at the gym. It’s a way to show off the body (Kim K wear) and get attention while working out
Who is wearing Skims or Spanx to Whole Foods? That is bizarre. I live in NYC, and have seen people out wearing all kinds of stuff, but never just straight shapewear. The people I see at Whole Foods in activewear (and I am one of them, frequently stop by on my way home from the gym or a run) are wearing sports bras and leggings from Alo or Lululemon or such. The clothes might be strappy/have cutouts/etc for style purposes, but it’s not shapewear.
The aforementioned Annapolis Whole Foods is literally underneath of a Lifetime. And they share a parking garages. And there is another gym 100 yards away. A ton of people go between the gyms and WF on regular basis, plus there are a ton of ladies of leisure in Annapolis who are workout regularly or wear athletic wear on a dialy basis and frequent WF.
