Because it’s accessible information. The overwhelming majority of American men marry American women. Assortive mating— another well documented phenomenon— indicates they will marry women of similar education and socioeconomic status. And someone who wants to marry a foreign woman but has no interest in learning a second language is just a creep. Creeps aren’t attractive to anyone. |
Let’s say, a foreign born woman works at Fortune500 company. She’s thin, makes $300k, maintained her youthful looks throughout life and has several grad degrees. She speaks with an accent but it didn’t prevent her from achieving the same career milestones as her US born colleagues at the same company. Why would any American man dating her need to learn her language ? Why would he be considered a reject that none of her US born colleagues wanted ? Her family back home is educated - grad degree in each generation in hard science. Why do you think her socioeconomic status below native speaking colleagues whose moms&dads on average didn’t have a grad degree? Again, we are discussing all being equal here. |
+1 They’re all wildly insecure Peter Pans |

Look at this Russian 50 something mom. I think most men would be happy with a middle aged wife who looks like this, is into sex, and she's not overly critical- non Russian wife here. Men are simple creatures.

You must be thinking of Asian women. European women tan and drink a lot. |
Haha! Clearly you’ve never met any Eastern European women. |
More people would bike in the US if it weren’t so car-centric. Can’t blame that one on women. Wait, what am I saying? A misogynist can blame anything on a woman. |
Oh, because in the US they’re in the line that says “US passport holders” and in other countries they’re in the “other passports” line? You’re a real Sherlock Holmes, baby! Have you thought of offering your mad detective skills to Interpol? I’d love to hear what they have to say. |
You’d better have major ducats. She looks expensive. |
Eastern European women are usually heads of households. The neck that turns her husband’s head. The assumption of their submissiveness is very wrong on this thread. But it doesn’t mean western men are less attracted to them. It only means they choose them for a combination of leadership, practical life skills and femininity. I look very much like the featured mom from Instagram. But I’m not expensive and sleep with whoever I want to (based on his attractiveness and personality). I dated average and well-off men post divorce, and all of them were high quality in modern terms. Tall, single, driven, handsome, established in their careers regardless of the field and within 5 years of my own age. None of them were looking just for sex or submissiveness. I don’t even know why women on this forum complain at men on OLD only looking for sex. It’s so easy to pre-screen! |
Yep. You just proved my point. |
Euro women by far drink less - you must be thinking about British women And euro women don’t tan as much unless they are from southern Europe. There’s a lot more variability in europe within what Americans consider “white” than there is in the us |
Southern women in the US tan a lot more than women in the north. Why are we lumping all American women together? |
I’m not sure which point but I really dislike the generalization of EE women on this thread as low social status, expensive looking green card seeking wh…es. Yes I dress nicely but I have my own career and money to maintain my lifestyle. A man doesn’t need to throw a fortune to sleep with me. The wealthier ones do during courtship. The recent guy (who is in education making decent money but less than me) got my bedroom time with museums, parks, cooking for me and taking out for drinks at jazz clubs. I would never allow a man who is lower paid to spend a fortune to get sexual. Just not right away, after I had a chance to get to know him better, and knew he’s not cheap |
Northern American women tan more than dutch, Belgian and other Scandinavian/northern continental euro women The point is there is more heterogenous choices in Europe than the us. There is a lot more convergence between northern and southern American women |
