What you wrote is untrue. In former USSR women were socially, sexually and economically emancipated at least 30 years earlier than in the US. 4 generations of my female predecessors were working full time, were either equal earners or breadwinners in their families, and had nannies. At the same time my grandmother taught me to cook and to tailor dresses. It’s just a culture to be feminine out there, and maintain gender roles. Average education level was also higher (and free) than in the US. You are comparing average American women to highly educated women who moved to DC area from abroad (on scholarship, thanks to parental money etc). These are apples vs oranges. An average American born woman who lives in dmv has totally different (and often lower social level upbringing). Professional American men in dmv are hunting for successful foreign born women for a reason. It’s a way for them to “upgrade” to a higher social level partner- both in looks, demeanor and education.

Insofar as this happens— and statistically it’s at vanishingly small levels—it’s because they’re not successful with successful American women. Typically because the kind of person who does this is already divorced, given the wide majority of successful American men are married to highly educated American women. Northern/Western European women aren’t trampling down the doors for American women’s rejects.

NP. What makes you think guys seeking foreign women are being rejected by American women? If given the choice, very few American men would choose American women over foreign women. Most Americans don't speak a foreign language and don't have the resources or income to live in another country. The problem is that unless you live in a foreign country, it's a logistical nightmare to date someone from another country. And your options for dating a foreign born woman if you live in the US is very limited.

Because it’s accessible information. The overwhelming majority of American men marry American women. Assortive mating— another well documented phenomenon— indicates they will marry women of similar education and socioeconomic status.

And someone who wants to marry a foreign woman but has no interest in learning a second language is just a creep. Creeps aren’t attractive to anyone.
