Look, you said you got a settlement, can’t you pay for your therapy out of that? Because you are obviously processing a lot of your personal stuff on this thread. I’m not sure that some kind of à la carte alumni therapy option is Gilman‘s most pressing need right now. |
Some people don’t want Gilman chosen therapists. There’s no guarantee of confidentiality. I know from the inside how othen the confidentiality requirement is completely ignored. |
From the inside of what? Therapists are bound to confidentiality - it doesn’t matter if Gilman pays their fees. |
As I said, the confidentiality requirement is often ignored. |
So you don’t like therapists period. Okay whatever. |
Listen up. Therapists are critical to the care of Gilman rape victims and their families. Free choice of a therapist by your rape victims is equally critical. Why would Gilman oppose that? |
This is such a bizarre thing for you to be fixating on. |
Not a fixation, just a fact. Gilman should not be mandating which therapists they’ll pay. A grave injustice has been perpetrated on the victimized boys. They may require years and years of professional therapy. Child rape is the worst of all crimes. It may be impossible to ever have a healthy intimate relationship. |
The actual victims will eventually get settlements and use the money for their chosen therapy among other things. As an initial matter, and for the rest of the school community, having a set of therapists on call or available is pretty much how every school in a similar situation handles this. |
Therapists hired by Gilman are indeed an excellent option for anyone who trusts therapists hired by Gilman. It’s a sensitive relationship between the school and the therapists, especially as long as detectives are investigating how potential rumors of abuse were handled. |
Gilman is not stopping you from getting your own therapist. Have at it. Please, seriously do. |
You sound mighty irate that Gilman will be held accountable. Don’t you think rape victims deserve justice? And the perp should be severely punished for the 15 he got away with his crimes? |
| Guys, I think I’ve figured it out. ChatGPT has taken over this thread. |
I beg of you: use some of the money from the settlement you said you got from your long-ago school and find therapy. Perseverating here does not help the Gilman families affected and it doesn’t help you, either. |
| Our irate poster keeps trying to derail this thread. One can easily guess his motive. Pathetic. |
