ETA: did not. The point is this: gilman has a history of institutional awareness of - and covering up of - teacher on student abuse. |
| Are any of the other Baltimore privates accepting apps this late for the US? We have two sons (one in 8th and one in 6th) and we do not wish to continue at gilman next year in light of this development. |
Lololol. First of all, I 100% think you’re a troll. But on the slim chance you’re not: good luck with that. Let us know how it goes. |
100% not a troll. Why would you think that? |
Fwiw my neighbor is in admissions at McDonough and said they’ve gotten several emails from gilman families wanting to inquire about a move. |
Is he gay? |
Because you’ve posted at least 7 times on the thread in an incredibly recognizable style, all screaming about how terrible the school is. I bet you’re a bored teen from another school, or otherwise someone with a grudge. This was an awful, awful thing, but as far as I can tell Gilman acted quickly and appropriately. They seem to have learned their lesson from the prior cases, one of which was in the 1950s and one of which was 1980s-early 2000s. I am satisfied with their response and don’t feel my son is in any more danger there than in any other school. Maybe less, because they are taking NO chances. Locally some people complained about how quickly Bendann was fired “on just an accusation, without process”. They did the right thing, and did it fast. -Gilman parent |

Incredible that this 38 year old man got away with working there for 15 years!
News Flash: Rapists do not suddenly start raping young boys at age 38. |
I’m sure you can get in somewhere. |
Kids know which teachers are “creepy” or “weird”. Adults tend to ignore the “rumors” just because they haven’t seen the clear evidence of rape. He was actually PROVIDING alcohol to the students on the weekends!!! |
I guarantee he was likely molested when he, himself, attended the school. |
So? What’s your point? |
| Is this one of those big 3 schools you freaks talk about all the time/ |
|
Successful predators often don’t come across as creepy or weird, at least not until they already have the victim in their clutches. I wouldn’t let my kid near an obviously creepy dude but the point is that we need to teach kids that there are boundaries that are totally inappropriate even if the adult doesn’t seem creepy at all. |
