Political Discussion
I know. |
Again your response is not consistent with someone who is pro choice. Your anger should be towards the people who are removing a woman's right to make the choice for her body and her life; not at random women on DCUM who want to boycott some colleges. |
|
Young gen are very socially conscious and routinely make decisions about schools, companies, employers that align with their values. Much more likely to walk away this is why so many brands, companies AND colleges court them by putting social values front and center.
Southern colleges are tainted now, no doubt. |
Have you seen women with ectopic pregnancies dying in Mississippi? After all, they’ve only had 1 abortion clinic in the state for years. No, you haven’t. Why? Because providers across the state can and will handle ectopic pregnancies appropriately. |
Perhaps those girls don't view getting pregnant and having an abortion as their primary concerns when going to college? |
+1 |
The difference now, PP, is that they will not be allowed by law to end an ectopic pregnancy in the hospital or perform an abortion on a dead fetus until the woman is septic. It has nothing to do with abortion clinics - there are the laws doctors in hospitals and emergency rooms will have to abide by. |
That was when Roe v Wade was in effect. Just wait. It's only been one day. |
You’re missing the point! Jesus! The girls in those states could still get the morning after pill in the ERs and have abortions for ectopic pregnancies IN THE HOSPITAL before. It has very little to do with abortion clinics. There are emergencies and life-and-death decision now hog tied by state legislatures. How can you possibly not know that by now?! |
Nope. I commented on another thread. Sibling at major hospital ER in OH just received guidance yesterday that they cannot touch ectopic pregnancies if there is a heartbeat. Doctors dealt with ectopic pregnancies appropriately before because they were allowed. OH heartbeat law only allows for abortion for eminent loss of life of the mother. As of now, there’s no guidance as to how close to risking death the mother has to be before they are allowed to intervene. In related news: take Case, Oberlin, Miami University, and OSU off your lists. |
| PP why do these girls have to go to the ER for the morning after pill? In my province you get it without a prescription at the drugstore. We also haven't had any abortion law at all for over 30 years. I don't get why you need a law at all. We consider it a medical procedure and not your neighbor's business. |
So, links to these claims? None? Didn't think so. DP |
I'm not the one who is angry. I haven't been posting incoherent rants on the topic. I simply stated that the issue has been handed back to the states to decide, as it should have been long ago. Feel free to boycott whatever you like. |
Bingo. |
The states are not forcing women to have babies. They are forcing them into unsafe legal abortions. We already saw this movie. |
