If these Red states want to be return to being Backwaters that deny Civil Rights, let's make them pay a steep price and send them fully backwards economically.....
Seriously, this repeal of a law that guaranteed a Woman autonomy over her own Body is a Civil Rights violation in each and every state that now passes its " Trigger Laws" . If these States want to become backwaters, we will abandon our recent decades investment in them and pressure European Corporations to do so as well. What EU Corp Exec wants his daughter charged with a Felony should their family move to these US States below for Corp relocate/ business reasons and what about their Employee Health Depts who fail to report all female executives pregnancy status to the State or transport their female executives/ managers across state lines to practice their Civil Right of self autonomy ? Just as I would not send one of our children to College in a State that repealed the Voting Rights Act or re-introduced Slavery, we will be pulling our applications at All the Universities in these Red States that make our daughter a felon for exercising control over her own body- even if she is raped at a college party Any Corporation doing business in States, paying taxes in States that have taken a woman's civil rights away should be Divested from and their Job offers turned down .... same as if these Corporations chose to do business in States that had segregation laws for bathrooms, water fountains and restaurants. European companies investing in these States should be advised and lobbied to pull their investments due to these States choosing to violate a Woman's civil rights in violation to European Law As of Today, the list of Backward American States where a woman's civil right of bodily autonomy is denied her are:https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/06/24/abortion-state-laws-criminalization-roe/ Louisiana ( Tulane, LSU ) Corporations to Boycott and Divest from: Walmart, Amazon, Exxon, Apple . | Thank you. I was looking for a list like this. |
| There’s already a thread discussing this, but this list should be posted there. |
|
Excellent. Appreciate you taking the time to pull this together.
Corporations cannot be allowed to believe that “covering travel costs” is the answer. |
| Ohio is left off this list |
| Ol Miss is mississippi, not mizzou in Missouri. |

Interestingly, applications at southern schools are up—way up. I think a lot of kids were put off by the super woke cancel culture.
Rather than cut off all ties with the south, let’s try to figure out how we got here so we can then determine how to get things back on track. Did your list include Virginia? The guy you elected already said he wants to take action, op. Or, are you only targeting “those Deep South” states dcum likes to criticize as backwards? I think your faux purple VA is just like the others on your list. So, shall we write off VA and aaaaaaalllllll those VA based corporations? Are you ready to bail on Amazon? |
Good point. That’s going to be a long list. So corps would be: proctor and gamble, Krogers, Cleveland health (yikes!). Colleges include: oberlin, ohio state |
|
Virginia hasn’t gone there yet and last year’s election was a fluke
Plenty of Virginians pissed as hell and ready to fight to take it back next year |
Not op, but I sure am. Also, applications hardly reflect yesterday’s decision. And kids can continue to attend schools in these states - it’ll just be a lot more dangerous for the women. But, I support choice even if I disagree with the choice someone makes. |
| Yes, I would never ever send my daughter to one of these states for college, and that unfortunately may include Virginia soon. |
Actually southern universities are already talking about a drop in their rankings due to this decision and loss of out-of-state tuitions. |
| Please stop saying that this only affects college women. It affects college men too. |
The good thing about Virginia is it’s proximity to Maryland at this point. But yeah we have to fight like hell. |
| It’s tough to divest from national corporations with just branches in these states. I’d love a list of industries based in these states. |
