Rather than cut off all ties with the south, let’s try to figure out how we got here so we can then determine how to get things back on track.

Did your list include Virginia? The guy you elected already said he wants to take action, op. Or, are you only targeting “those Deep South” states dcum likes to criticize as backwards? I think your faux purple VA is just like the others on your list. So, shall we write off VA and aaaaaaalllllll those VA based corporations? Are you ready to bail on Amazon?

That's not true in my experience. All the kids I know from my DC's NOVA HS who went to southern colleges went because they didn't get in anywhere better in VA and/or because they got a better financial aid package.

Yep. Delusional pp thinks DVER (duke, vandy, Emory, rice — top four southwrn schools) is winning cross admits from HYPMW.

lol…..DVER? Yeah, that’s not a thing.

It isn’t but the point holds true

No need to post queries on each state here

The Washington Post provides a state by state guide for us : https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/06/24/abortion-state-laws-criminalization-roe/[/url]

West Virginia should be on the list too but I don’t think there are many universities there with significant liberal populations from other states because, well, it is West Virginia…

Resist sidetracking and stay focused

This is a targetted list to maximize success. Of All of these states , Tennessee is the most vulnerable to a pull out of Foreign Corp Investment from its state-lets make an example starting with Tennessee and Vanderbilt University.

Tennessee will literally go belly up when Foreign Corp Investment is pulled

Can you elaborate on this? What is Foreign Corp Investment and how can we help it pull out of Tennessee?

I have a high school friend whose daughter is ecstatic to go to Ole Miss for nursing. I am flabbergasted.

"Pull your College App?"

Are there a lot of posters here currently applying to college? I thought most DCUM posters were already graduated from college and in their 30's, 40's, 50's...

Oh, wait! Were you telling people to pull their DAUGHTERS' applications? Shouldn't it be the daughter's choice?

It is my daughter’s choice. She made the decision and we (who are paying 100%) support it.

Sure is she is paying for her own college. Otherwise we, the parents with the tuition money, definitely have the power of veto.

Well that's fine. But OP was ordering people to do this--not giving them a choice.

No OP isn’t. The fact remains that I, a parent, would not allow my daughter to go to school in these states. We definitely have veto power as do most parents doing full pay.

Right? Just like parents who have been paying for their daughters food, shelter, clothes, education...they should have "the power of veto" if the girl/woman finds herself pregnant an wants an abortion, right? Where is the "power of veto" line drawn?

It’s uncertain states on the east coast giving me heartburn

We live in VA and have several potential schools on my daughter’s list in PA and NC.

We can only add UMBC if we cross the Potomac because the oos rates for the only MD school with the program we’d be looking for are crazy high

Why?

It’s a good school with a nice town and great atmosphere. She will have fun.

Wise up: stop writing off entire states, their citizens, their schools, etc It only fuels the divide and drives more Dems to vote R.

Yes OP is.
The fact remains that parents don't have the power to allow/not allow things for adults. Your kid could still choose to pay for school themselves and go to any school of their choice.

DH and I are both University of Notre Dame graduates as was my FIL. It’s in Indiana and very backward on women’s rights. Neither of our kids are allowed to even apply or accept recruitment.
