My hot take - if you own an AR-15 you have a few loose screws

Do you always run away the moment you realize you are about to lose a debate?

Why do you feel you need to ban that woman’s hunting rifle?

I mean, shouldn’t we focus on the obviously insane people who resort to mass-murder? They could and do also use their cars, a bomb, trucks, arson, etc.

They really don’t though. Maybe in other countries but here we very much uniquely commit mass murder with guns.

An auto executive
A biglaw attorney
A prosecutor (ex-military)

Most people would not guess that they own semi-auto guns.

Why do they own them?

I’m a different poster, but I know a doctor that bought one “because they are going to be banned soon”

So totally irrational.

PP was probably referring to AR-15s. The topic of this thread.

It's not for you to judge? Why? Are you kidding us with this?

Yeah actually they do. You must not read the news.

The idea that AR15s are not used for hunting is a myth.

Do not trust anyone who perpetuates that lie. They are not honest.

Dude - "they are used for hunting" is not the trump card you think it is - this rando pictures are making you look silly.

I can hunt with a frying pan or a nuclear missile - the fact I can use either of things for hunting doesn't mean they both should be equally available.

That AR-15 and other LARP-er guns can be used for hunting is totally irrelevant - and not a get-out-of-jail card to prevent them from being banned by a civilized society. They are being used to kill little children in schools and are particularly attractive to the mentally ill who should not have access to guns.

Plenty of better rifles to hunt with than an AR-15. You'll have to learn to cope. Even if you can't I don't give a s. - you hobby of hunting is not more important than reducing rates for these horrific mass shootings than have plagued us since the "assault weapons" ban was allowed to expire.

What people are saying is that they are not needed for hunting. There are plenty of other options.

Just because a handful of people use them for hunting does not mean they should be legal.

In fact, the people I know who are really into hunting - as in, they source all their meat from hunting and view it as a spiritual practice - dont even use firearms, they use bows. One guy I know even makes his own.

I would wager that AR-15 is not chambered in .223 or 5.56 just based on the barrel. So, it would likely be humane and therefore acceptable in this case.

Bow hunting isn't humane IMHO. The animal doesn't need to suffer.

Using the non-word “rando” makes you look silly.

Yes let’s keep AR 15s so that at least the people shot with them don’t suffer.

Idiot.

How about kids? Is it humane for them to bleed out at school after being shot?

No, it really doesn’t.

Posting pictures of women with AR-15s is just dumb and doesn’t prove anything.

Hunters will get along without them just fine.
