Bondsmen in Fairfax are being ruined by Descano. I don’t imagine the crowd reading posts on this web site will cry many tears for bondsmen and their businesses, but they do occupy a lot of commercial real estate in Fairfax. If they go belly up, there will be a lot of empty storefronts near the court complex in Old Town Fairfax

Arrestees are now mostly released with a summons. Many of them then blow off their court date, get in more trouble, and have a warrant for Fail to Appear in addition to whatever new crimes they commit

And for those worried about overcrowding, that is a laugh. Thanks to these new prosecutors, jail populations in the DC area are quite low these days

Classic Steve Descano, I hope the judge refuses to accept this plea deal, these victims deserve much better than misdemeanor Alford pleas. The statement that the outcome would the same if they went to trial is BS, they were charged with felonies and would have gone to prison. I haven’t prosecuted a case in several years but give me the video and the witnesses from the school, and I’ll put this case up to a jury any day. Descano needs to go the way of Chesa Boudin. This is completely disgraceful.

I had to do some research to figure out what was going on with crime in FFX. Turns out it was lower overall in 2021 compared to 2020, however murders "spiked" from 15 to 21.

Fairfax County has a population of nearly 1.2 million people. This is not serious.

That assumes there is a documented history of violence on the part of these children and ignores the fact that another aid apparently videotaped the two women being abusive.

Descano is an insipid wimp like Boudin and should get tossed. He's done nothing to make the county a better place to live and is as partisan as they come.

Did you even read what was depicted on the videos? Dragging a wheelchair bound child out of their chair and throwing them to the floor, force feeding kids until they choke?! You don’t need to call the kids or their family members as witnesses, it was on video!!! There is not a chance they walk with a competent prosecutor trying the case, which Fairfax County now has few of.
