I will say that I've been blown away by Trinity Rodman in the NWSL this season. She's fast, technical, and an amazing play maker in her first year in the NWSL. I see her as a future star.

So roster spots should go to players based on social media and market appeal???

Never said she’s ready NOW. Simply pointing out that they look at it from a business standpoint as well. They may choose an older established player because they put eyes to the television. Younger players have to mitigate that by promoting themselves so the public knows who they are before they are called on to the team. It definitely helps.

Right now the team roster is based on they have been winning so why tinker.
After this cycle wholesale breakdown and change will come.

I agree with you. She is the best talent on this team. She should be at striker on this team. With Heath and Williams on wings.

That said Rose has not produced in Premier or NWSL as a scorer (again dependent on use).

Morgan is a dead cherry picker walking. But at least she tries to press. Rapinoe is all bravado and smoke

The reason Carli is still on this team is obvious: she is better than Morgan or Rapinoe and they have not brought along Morgan’s successors

When Rapinoe is on the field the team is playing a man down. This really hurts the team. Carli and Morgan game is speed and they do not have it any more. The problems are a lot deeper vs just the offense. The US backline looked confused in the friendlies leading up to the Olympics. The other team would pass around them but not be able to capitalize. Those were really low ranked teams. You can not start the offense with Horan. She is not that type of player. She does not see the field well and has too many bad passes.
