it's like the Fortune 500 company that can't find a way to get the boomers to retire. There is plenty of young talent in the pipeline, they're just all blocked

Exactly. The older establishment players are better for marketing vs playing so they are kept on and played past their time. I think most people have seen this disaster in the making for a while now.

Lavelle is 26. In the soccer world that is your prime. She is a technical player with a high speed of play who does not have anyone to play with. She is wasted on this team.

I'm not positive that there are that many young technical players ready to step in, but here's hoping.

I will say that I've been blown away by Trinity Rodman in the NWSL this season. She's fast, technical, and an amazing play maker in her first year in the NWSL. I see her as a future star.

Younger players are doing a better job of marketing themselves. I think going forward there will be a trend of talented young players that know how to work social media to build their presence there so they bring that along with talent.

Press seems to have beaten out Rapinoe officially on left.

Sweden must have been relieved when Vlatko took Heath and Lavalle out.

Fortunately as the games progress in the heat, the US’ you g legs, speed and possession will start to grind other teams down

…. Oh wait a minute uh …

Agreed. And she does a fantastic job of appealing to the youth with how she promotes herself.

I agree with you. She is the best talent on this team. She should be at striker on this team. With Heath and Williams on wings.

That said Rose has not produced in Premier or NWSL as a scorer (again dependent on use).

Morgan is a dead cherry picker walking. But at least she tries to press. Rapinoe is all bravado and smoke

The reason Carli is still on this team is obvious: she is better than Morgan or Rapinoe and they have not brought along Morgan’s successors

So roster spots should go to players based on social media and market appeal???

Isn’t that the problem the team already is facing in this Olympics?

What are you complaining about? Have you watched Rodman play? She's the real deal.

She should go to Europe and learn how to play. The women European club teams are playing a game that looks a lot like the European men’s club teams in terms of style and it is fun to watch. It is a lot more sophisticated vs what the women are doing here. The speed of play and technical abilities are a lot higher. It is becoming like the men’s side. Watching the USMNT in the gold cup with the domestic players you can see the slower speed of play vs when they bring the European based players in.

Rapinoe interesting comments after game “we” and dumb plays etc. hard to lead from the bench. Hard to lead when you are not one of the better players. Hard to lead when you throw teammates under bus for “dumb plays”.
