Why still pay for it if you aren't watching it?

Doesn't fox have a higher viewership than cnn?

Yes. CNN has tanked in the past few months. MSNBC is not doing much better.
Cable providers know their audiences. They are not going to drop Fox.

Yes, that was already explained above. Please keep up.

Hit a nerve, I see.

No, I see you still don't understand the explanation. It's that rather than watching FOX News and only FOX News, liberals get their news from a wide variety of sources.

Take 20 conservatives, 17 of them will almost exclusively get their news from FOX, because they've been taught that everything else is "fake news"
Take 20 liberals, and 20 of them will get some of their news from CNN, some of their news from ABC, some of their news from NBC, or CBS, Bloomberg, or PBS, or any number of news sources. There are also some liberals who watch FOX News for balance and to understand what the other side is saying - though that is NOT the case for conservatives as I constantly see "you won't see this on MSM" when in fact it is being talked about on MSM too - most conservatives at this point have absolutely no clue what's ACTUALLY on non-conservative news because they've been indoctrinated in a belief that it's all "fake news"

Bottom line is that the news market for liberals is far more fragmented and liberal viewers have far less mindless channel loyalty than conservative viewers do.

Get it now?

DP. This is one of the most ridiculous, non-evidence supported bunch of BS ever to be pulled from a liberal’s butt. I’m a moderate conservative who never watches Fox (or CNN), but I do read widely - the WSJ, Economist, NYT, among others. You just wrote an an entire paragraph full of nothing but your own claims and biased opinions about conservatives. Maybe stick to what you DO know which is your own habits - and not those of millions of other people.

Anyone know much about this? I apploaud the spirit but I doubt peititioning providers is going to make a difference short of canceling your subscription.

Thoughts?

Do they make a version that eliminates all the leftist scum networks, too?

Sad. You people have been indoctrinated into believing that anything that isn't extreme far right such as FOX/OAN/Newsmax/Breitbart/Daily Caller etc is "leftist scum" - and some of you even think FOX News is "leftist scum" apart from nutcases like Tucker Carlson.

DP. I don’t watch any of the above, but I can’t wait to hear about unbiased and “centrist” Rachel Maddow, Don Lemon, Joy Behar, Joy Reid, Jim Acosta, et al are. We’ll wait while you spin something up!

Cable subscribers are not subsidizing NBC and its networks, nor CNN and its networks they way they are forced to for FOX. See the difference?

Leftists didn’t storm the Capitol then try to gaslight us into thinking it was the FBI.

- signed FoxNews Orphan

Conservatives didn't rant on and on for 4 years about a Russian conspiracy that didn't exist.
CNN and MSNBC and Democrats did.

LOL someone hasn't read the Mueller Report nor the Senate Intel Committee report on the 2016 election.

Sad.

Nope, that's based on numerous surveys of media consumption that show news media is far more fragmented on the left. For example Pew survey that showed 47% of conservatives use FOX as their primary news source whereas liberals are far more likely to use an array of media sources. For example only 13% would cite CNN as their primary news source, very much contrary to the conservative mythology/projection that liberals all get their news from CNN.

And here you've wrongly accused me of completely pulling my comment out of my ass and demonstrated your gross ignorance of political polarization and left vs right news media consumption habits.

^^ The most telling part of that graphic is this:
“Liberals are more likely to defriend someone on a social networking site because of politics.” Gotta love those “open-minded, tolerant” liberals! 😂

This was from 2014 - 7 years ago.
Since then, we have seen Newsmax, OANN, and a huge increase in independent journalism.
A TON has changed in the past 7 years.
One big factor - trust in the media in the US is rock bottom..... lowest of all countries surveyed.

It's because most liberals don't have tolerance for people who are racists, xenophones, mysogynists and sexists.

If you don't like reading those words, maybe look in the mirror and do an examination of the rhetoric and policies of the GOP from the last several years.

It is about the DEGREE to which they are subsidized.

You are joking, right?
This is an MMFA nut. And, MMFA are the ones who are pushing the whole "unfox my box" tripe.
A cable network that consistently gets higher viewership charging more than others with a fraction of their viewers???? And, you think this is not fair because..........?

BTW - check out ESPN and see how much their carriage fees are.

Hilarious. The right wing whines about CNN being "fake news" and then flocks to far faker "news" like OANN and Newsmax. If OANN and Newsmax are what we consider news media these days then we've truly hit rock bottom - and it's Republicans who are pushing the race to the bottom.

Poor CNN still trying to cover Trump long after he's gone. They are hoping Trump news will prop them up even if just for a day!

There is an easy explanation for this if you have the ability to think it through
