You know all the anti vaxxers are mostly anti maskers.
Predicting new wave by August among all the anti vaxxers. But I'll be safe, so there is that. |
That is not true at all. Sounds like you live in a very white bubble. |
According to the CDC tracker, 32 million people in the US have had Covid. The population of the US is 328 million. So 10% of the TOTAL population of the US has had Covid. Last time I checked, children were not the only people in the US. |
I don't think this is the place for this debate, but he/she is not making that number up, just saying it poorly. 10% of kids who get covid have long covid symptoms, not 10% of all kids. |
Oh I know what they were saying. Still want to know where people are finding that 10% of kids who got Covid had “long Covid symptoms.” And really? You can have long symptoms with any virus. Haven’t you ever had a cough and congestion for weeks if not months after a bad bout of bronchitis? I’ve had an upper respiratory infection turn into pneumonia. A Dallas Cowboys player lost a whole season to illness when he developed Guillan-Barre. Stuff happens. Not going to make health policy around the edge cases. |
| So as of May 28 all the physical distancing requirements will be dropped too? So no more 10 ft apart requirement at exercise facilities including outdoor pools? |
I took my 12 year old to get his shot at the mass vaccination site at Dulles Town Center yesterday. There were loads of adults without kids there, so plenty of people are still wanting to get vaccinated. |
| As long as they keep curbside services, I don't care! All ya'll unmasked people can be in there together! |
I'd take that bet in a heartbeat. We didn't even really seriously have a wave with all the recent serious variants and then lower vax numbers. More people vaccinated means less community transmission. And more and more anti vaxxers have already had COVID and getting natural immunity. The numbers are plummeting around here and they are not just going to magically shoot back up before August. Maybe small pockets here and there in highly unvaccinated areas. |

Well we all can see you are an infectious disease doctor totally trianed. You do you and myob about others. Trumpets always think they know better and love to control others. By the way your fat orange idol is a criminal nazi. |
I know it eases your peabrain to assume that everyone who is more moderate when it comes to covid is a trumper, but it couldn't be further from a truth. My guess is that you've been isolating, barely socializing or going out or doing anything, to realize that most people who have resumed their life to a decent degree, are Democrats - especially in NOVA. You can tell yourself whatever you want to fit the narrative you've concocted in your head, but it doesn't match reality. |
Awesome. Post more places. I’m supporting businesses that follow the CDC. |
| Went out to eat in VA today. Most people wore masks into and out of the restaurant. |
True--but at this point shots have been readily available for 2-3 weeks, so people really have no excuse (and maybe some there were getting 2nd doses?). Remember that we've been told that we need to mask "to protect others". Any day now, I (vaccinated) am not going to be willing to "protect others" if they haven't even bothered to protect themselves. And yeah, first shot counts. Protection ramps up over time and with the 2nd dose, but there's a big load of protection just from the first shot. |
