Most celebs, both male and female, are on the short side. Especially if you exclude the former models and athletes.

Short women are viewed by men as more feminine and fertile. It's all about the the waist-hip ratio so pear shaped women have an evolutionary advantage, according to some research.

I remember having this epiphany in college. The "hot" girl on my floor was tiny and came out dressed for a formal with another girl on the floor who was 5-10 and who typically dressed really casually. 5-10 girl in her formal wear made hot girl look like a troll. It was impossible to take your eyes off her.

I tell my kids that being average height is the best. The world was made for average sized people. It makes them feel better for not being on the tall side.

Nicole Kidman....you could put the woman in a paperbag and she'd look great. Her clothes in that HBO show The Undoing...amazing.

I would guess the main casting advantage for the tiny ones is they never make the tiny guys look tiny. So we can keep up the illusion and not have to suspend reality for a few hours and pretend like Tom Cruise, for example, is a big guy.

I'm still confused about the Nicole Kidman/Tom Cruise red carpet pictures though. Was he standing on a box the whole time? Or was she kneeling and they just didn't show her feet?

I have read he wears lifts and she's likely wearing flats.

So if he's 5-9 and gets 2 inches from lifts and she wears flats or a very low heel, they look the same or she looks slightly taller.

I bet a lot of male celebrities wear lifts.

Tom is ~5'7". He's a teeny-tiny man is stature, although fit. I actually met Tom and Nicole while they were filming Days of Thunder in Daytona. The height difference was jarring for me.

Do you mean Michelle Williams? I thought short hair looked terrible on her. Winona Ryder sort of pulled it off because she has a quirky look. Michelle just looks suburban. Zoe, Halle, and Natalie are beauties.
