Dude. There are plenty of us who have been done wrong by Loudoun. There are whole threads you can find if you search where all sorts of behavior has been documented and discussed. They're a bad bunch. In earlier times they would have been robbing trains. Now they run a soccer club.

With all due respect this is not what happens. Clubs allow players from other clubs to attend practices all the time without anybody notifying anybody. This happened on DA teams with kids practising on other DA teams during the season, and it happens to today with GA teams and ECNL teams.

It is a win-win for both clubs. Talented kids from Herndon will get an opportunity to play at ECNL level, and Arlington will get a much needed infusion of talent that was developed at another club. There will be some upset Arlington parents, whose kids will be replaced by more talented kids from Herndon, but they will get over it. I will say it is a good deal for both clubs.

We’re not talking about practices. Discovery players (with their club’s permission) get rostered on the ECNL team in addition to their non-ECNL team. They can attend all practices, games, and showcases like the full-time ECNL players.

No it happened. I will not get into the details but the TD and coach(non DA club) said no. After ID session DA club wanted the player to attend practice/train once a week. Club would not give permission. So yes it happens. Remember these players are major contributors to the old club. If these players leave it has a negative impact on the coach and club. It is against the interest of the coach, TD and club to lose these players.

this isn't good just for the clubs, but for the players. McLean/SYC alliance, Arlington/Herndon alliance, VDA, etc... funnel the best and most dedicated into a pool and there'll likely be a good output.

Arlington had to react to McLean/SYC alliance or be left behind. Herndon has much smaller pool of player than SYC, but they will strengthen Arlington teams.
