What swimsuit are you buying this year and why?

Auto-correct—Boden— but I bet a Biden suit would be cute too!

I got this one and like it a lot more than I expected-in the green. I’m an A cup so even though it looks revealing it really isn’t on me. But if you are a C or over this is not the suit for you! https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-reversible-extended-break-one-piece-swimsuit/77320.html?dwvar_77320_color=SEIB&cgid=womens-swimwear-one-piece

I also got this one in the pink

https://www.prana.com/p/jess-reversible-one-piece/W11212435.html?dwvar_W11212435_color=Papaya%20Fronds&dwvar_W11212435_size=XL&mid=paidsearch&eid=google&gid=6&nid=CPCS-Shopping-Smart-F20_Product-080720&oid=F20-Products&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyN-DBhCDARIsAFOELTlyRhWXJyttkn5QlGFTKgBeT4J_Bu31XRq_YkvtJYH9mAEHYRg8h50aAsRREALw_wcB

And a black 1980 Jcrew scoop back one piece- I repurchase this every year. It is a great fit and a classic but don’t have a long life if you wear with frequency. Worth the repurchase though. I haven’t found an equal in looks and fit for basic black suit

Up top I hate halters because they give me a neck ache but anything else goes.

Suggestions?

Summersalt has great bottoms cut like you’re describing!

Thank you… ! Yes! May you find your perfect suit too PP!

I know it looks so frumpy, and honestly I normally wear bikinis, but this is the first one piece I liked (and my husband likes too). Make sure to get the ribbed or ripple fabric. Looks cute with cutoff Jean shorts on top

This is cute! I'm sad they are out of the size and color I think I would need? How does sizing run?

Maybe it is just me..but I found summersault to be cut to high/narrow around the gusset/front. Like a thonga underwear worn backwards.

That is horrendous!

I think it’s cute!

Me too! You will look lovely in it. Have a fun summer!

Thank you both! Wishing the same for you.

I like it too! Very retro vibe. I’d wear it.

Same - I think it has a fun 80s/retro superhero vibe to it.

I just ordered a pair of Body Glove swim shorts:

https://www.bodyglove.com/products/39559660-301-lost-splash-performance-cross-over-short-coral?variant=37758018027715¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic

I mostly wear swimsuits to paddle board and kayak, and also I am kind of a prudish never-nude (not for body image issues - I not so modestly think I look great at 47! - but I just don't like the feeling of being out in public in my underwear).

I'll see how these are. Might look for some new bikini tops, too. And a new rashguard.

I wish more swim companies would make bike short length swim bottoms! That's my complaint. I like the boyshort bottoms but often they are "cheeky" and as someone with an ample behind, I always feel like I am just hanging out of them. Sizing down, they rise up - sizing up, they're too loose and flappy.

Anyway.

Weirdly, I am really digging Lands End's prints and cuts this season - usually I find them too frumpy, even for me. I think this suit is so cute:

that Landsend cap sleeve top is really cute! I think it would be wonderful in black.

Thank you for articulating this. I feel exactly the same way. I like my body and have no shame about it, but I find running around in a bikini or very high cut/cheeky one pieces to just feel really exposed in a way I don't love. I like a full coverage bottom that is pretty covered in front. I don't need a full on boy short (though if I could find one cut the way you are talking about, I might like it), I just want a bathing suit that does not require me to wax everything off or won't lead to me spending the entire day tugging it back into place. And it's frustrating to me that bathing suits that are cut this way are often very conservative in other ways (really high cut backs, for instance, or that classic older-lady suit with the high wrap front and all the ruching).

I recently became obsessed with Malia Mills one piece suits because they are exactly what I'm always looking for -- full coverage on the bottom but sexy and revealing on top. I just can't pull the trigger on a $400 bathing suit. But I've been looking for something similar all season:

Love the lands end suit in the blue print. So cute!

If it’s like the old school 80s styles, that’s what I like. Makes the legs look so much better.
