They are the dates when you can start thinking about looking to get on a pregistration list when it opens.

I would love to see a graph of how many new vaccines have been added each day in MD.

Round trip was about 1:45 including the wait for the vaccination and the 15 minute wait afterwards. We even did some shopping at the CVS during the trip.

And it was worth it to get in ahead of the rush coming next week.

This is super frustrating. I live in Baltimore and can't get a damn appointment. Everywhere else is limiting it to residents, but people who sh!t on Baltimore any other time have no problem coming and taking the limited number of vaccines we have.

As of March 18, the 7 day average of doses administered per day in Maryland is 43,034.

CVS is a statewide option, as are the other pharmacy providers. The mass vax sites are all statewide. The only sites that are local are the county health departments, which is a small portion of the supply. You need to look at statewide sits in addition to your local sites. No one going to a statewide provider is taking "your' supply.

Not sure this is right. Those in group 2A can pre-register now.

Curiosity: when you register for an appointment for long is it between registering and the appointment? Is it the same week? I'm getting a different vaccine in a couple weeks so I can't get a COVID shot until mid April, but I'll be eligible before then. Should I hold off before trying to register until I'm able to go more or less immediately?

I possibly was being a little bit facetious.

But I just remember Maryland 1b "opening up" back on January 18th.

There are still people in 1B who are trying to get vaccinated two moths later.

Unknown.

I recommend you register now, and then use a different email address to register a week from now or so.

It just means that you can start competing for vaccines now.

And then in a week, you can start competing for vaccines with people who have all sorts of health conditions for a vaccine that no one has.

It's going to be a madhouse.

Probably, but supply will be ramping up in a week and a half. Nearly 3 in 10 adults have already gotten their first shot. And the health condition thing is complicated, how do you prove it? How many people will lie? I think it makes sense, after prioritizing older people, to open it up broadly. We want it to me a "madhouse" to a certain extent. We don't want the have to struggle to fill appointments.

Vaccines in Oakland at CVS have been open for a week. No one wants them there. And appointments opened at Walmart in Lavale today (both in western md). It's not very competitive now. It's hard, but not as hard as it once was. I crossed three people off my list today.

It’s hard in Montgomery County where people want the vaccine.

Question: I live near the DC border, but do not work in DC. Does anyone know if I can register at a DC pharmacy — which would be a lot easier for me to get to than the MD options available so far?

I don’t drive, so my options are limited. I have preregistered for the county sites as well.

How hard have you tried to get an appointment at CVS? They are there but you need to be persistent. That’s just how it is right now. I was vaccinated at Giant. It took me two weeks to get an appointment and o had my second shot this week.

If you’re eligible in 1A- 1C you will have priority when pre registering for the M & T mass vaccine site. Have you not had any luck with that? Try calling the number - I’ve heard that speaking to a live person can also be successful even if you have to stay on hold for a while.

Person who doesn't drive in MD-pretty sure Lyft is offering free rides to appointments and if you look on the Montgomery County website, there is
a link to request a ride.

Go here and scroll to the vaccinations portion, they have tabs for daily breakouts and a graph of each days vaccines: https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/#Vaccine

I've been watching since January and they are really ramping up. When Hagerstown MassVax goes live next week things will move even more. I live in Frederick county and it's been hard for people to get vaccines here (the county health department is not doing a great job) unless they want to travel out of county, which is what I did. Also, Congressman Trone sends out a weekly COVID report with a breakout of places in his district that have vaccines if you want to sign up for his newsletter. If you live in MoCo and want to get vaccinated ASAP when you're eligible, I'd consider Hagerstown because the population is less dense there and it is a pretty drive up.
