You can look up their enrollment by state and year. IIRC there are 5-7 from DC in the entire undergraduate class in any given year. That means that only one or two from DC are admitted each year. Numbers are much higher for VA and MD.

The actual name is "Ronald Reagan National Airport." It is often abbreviated to "Reagan National" even on the official website. Why would you judge someone that says Reagan Airport or National Airport, both are logical further abbreviations.

Because Reagan was a horrible president whose dog whistling to white voters about race led directly to trump?

Not only do I call the airport DCA I correct people who use Ronnie the Iran Colluder’s name for the airport. (Ps did you see this year that members of his campaign in 1980 confessed to colluding with Iran to keep American hostages held?)

Anyway, few people at MIT will be in favor of Reagan. The campus is pretty tech savvy and educated. Even the business school has few conservatives.

Also, as long as I’m on the curmudgeonly stuff, Pi day, humph.
Pi is the most boring and commonplace irrational number. e is a lot more interesting, and even so it’s not that interesting. So many more interesting concepts in math than approximating a ratio of circumference to length with a base-10 infinite sum.

Just for comparison purposes, Cal Tech enroll 244 freshmen in 2020-2021.

There are only a tiny number of slots available at these schools. Cal tech undergrad is around 45% white, 45% Asian.

Yes, 400 kids deferred last year due to covid. They don't know yet how many will return this year but need to manage space for them.
