You know what? If OP's neighbor lives on a sizable lot, and the neighbor just arrived recently and is complaining about anything and everything, that neighbor has zero clout. OP, that neighbor might have electric fence and that is not your business. Y'all going to have to learn to deal with life instead of being such a Karen. Is that the reputation you want? If the dog is out at reasonable hours - it's a dog, dogs bark. You can't control everything in life, OP - certainly not other people. Buy yourself a pair of ear pods, or get out of your house more. My neighbor's dog barks, we are all working (yes, actually working, unlike you, OP) at home. We go to the other side of the house to work. The houses are not big, but they are brick, and keep the noise out nicely. Otherwise, I go out, if I am not working - I go for a walk, I meet people for coffee - do you have any friends? Maybe go visit with your mother? OP, life is truly too short. You sound insane. |

+1 OP sounds insane, naive, spoiled and clueless about life. Get a grip, OP! Let me guess, you are the neighbor that has the professional landscapers trucks (plural) at your house with leaf blowers (again, plural) at least once a week. Hint: there are no leaves now! OMG. OP is hopeless. Maybe you should think about moving to where there are zero neighbors. Do you have a commute to worry about? Probably not, I am guessing. |
| OP o you post this same thing about once every few weeks?? |
| *do |
I am not OP, but I have definitely posted about a neighbor's nuisance dog barking recently. Jerk dog owners are an epidemic. |
??? DP. I’m the poster with the jerky neighbors who stick their dogs outside for 30 minutes at 5:30am. I do not have landscapers. We never tackle yard work until late afternoon/early evening. We don’t let our kids play outside until after 10am on the weekends. Dog owners are sometimes selfish imho. |
| Buy a dog bark deterrent device, as the last resort. |
Okay. Did OP say she does shift work? If she did I missed it. The vast vast majority of people are well awake by 7, and probably a majority are up by 6. If you’re not on some sort of shift work and are in bed past 7 so dogs barking bothers you, maybe look at your own lifestyle and choices rather than forcing others to conform to your unique timeline. |
Not OP, but I have tried this. The little sonic birdhouse things don't work, unfortunately. |
+1 The chances of OP being on "shift work" are slim and zero. |
It goes both ways. If you move next to a house with a dog - guess what? It will bark. Surprise. |
Well, you never know what is next door, do you. Could be worse. |
|
OP, why don't you move where there are no neighbors?
A dog barking is a lot better than many other potential issues! |
|
I used to have neighbors where it was the norm to have their dogs (many!) run loose - literally, loose - no fences, no electric fences, nothing. The dogs would be in other people's yards constantly. There were about six families that did this, each with multiple dogs. That is a lot of dog poop - not to mention, the issues that loose dogs have - so dangerous!
That would be more of an issue to me. |
