Woken up by neighbor’s barking dogs every morning.

If we are on a walk and another dog starts lunging and barking she might bark back once, but we have taught her to stay calm and we shield her. She also gets about 5 miles a day of walking.

anyway, we used to live next door to people who had 4-5 dogs, who barked all day. They would be let out in the morning and back inside at evening, but never walked. They were within the city guidelines, so nothing we could do.

It doesn't matter how much you walk certain dogs - some dogs are territorial, and they bark when something (car, person, other dog, deer, fox, raccoon) approaches the house. Not all dogs are "accessories", like Paris Hilton's chihuahua.

OP does not seem very educated about animals or living around other people. OP, if you are so intolerant, maybe move to a cabin in the woods (warning: there might be animals, and you can't "report" everything).

You seem really out of touch, OP.

Oh hell, I do not want to hear your leaf blower unless it is once in November. Once. When all the leaves have fallen. Period. Any more than that, and your are just looking to burn money on landscapers, and that is not my problem. You look stupid.

Invest the money in earplugs, OP.

It's just the other bad/lazy/selfish dog owners chiming in in solidarity. Gotta circle the wagons. I used to live in a neighborhood full of them, their little darlings would stand outside and bark for hours on end while the owners drooled in front of the TV watching sports. Bad dog owners tend to stick together.

Huh? Some of us work.

Complainers tend to stick together. OP, are you like 100 years old with no hobbies?

Of course not! Op knows she is rude and entitled!

OP, go boss your husband around.

Probably a troll.

Not OP, but I wonder if my neighbors heard me yell "WILL YOU SHUT THE F UP!" to their dog. Because it hasn't been barking nearly as much lately.

I want to feel bad because they're otherwise pretty nice neighbors, but the way they let their dog bark and bark and bark and bark was incessant and maddening.

I don’t care for the sound of dogs barking but it usually starts between 6:00 and 6:30 so if you are still sleeping at that time, it’s kind of on you.

OP, you sound kind of demanding and unreasonable. You sure you don't have noise on your property that your neighbors might have to endure - something that might not bother you at all, but might really bother them?

You don't sound reasonable.

Sounds privileged.

how is being courteous a sign of privilege?

How is it demanding and unreasonable to expect people to be responsible dog owners? It would piss me off too. I have a dog (and neighbors!) and if my dog barks when she is outside, I call her in. That is the polite and neighborly thing to do. Nobody wants to listen to your dog bark it’s head off outside.

It’s demanding if, like some posters, you expect to never hear dogs bark for more than a minute. I’d laugh in your face if you raised this complaint to me. And then point out all the annoying shit I have to listen to from your yard. You want silence, move to the middle of nowhere.

Hello!

On a previous thread I was known as air horn lady. I beeped my air horn whenever my neighbor’s dog barked. I trained my neighbor and it’s owner to stop being assholes. You’re welcome.

You were well appreciated on that thread! Did you solve the problem or does the dog still bark and you have to honk in response?

Have done similar in the post and yep it does work. A dog that stands outside and mindlessly barks at nothing for hours is probably too dumb to be trained but at least there is some hope for the owners.

Irresponsible self centered dog owners are everywhere. Could be one could be a whole squad.
