| Considering we were flat out rejected from Sidwell, there must be 'something' to the waitlist |

| The Sidwell waitlist is real, and there is movement, although (obviously) no guarantees. Re-enrollment contracts were only due 4 days ago, and the big money isn't due until June/July, so there will be accepted kids who prefer to go elsewhere and enrolled kids who move/move on. |

To the pp on avoiding the "winning combination" thing -
I don't think it makes people feel bad. I think it is really interesting to know whether most accepts have a connection of some sort, or whether there are a fair number of 'regular folks' admits. We all recognize that admissions at Sidwell and other schools are a huge crapshoot, that there are just more talented & lovely kids than there are slots, etc. Stories on both sides ("we're nobodies!" or "no surprise here - we're a sib!") are oddly reassuring. |
