Who said exclusively? But look at the evidence: it is a heavily GOP problem and it appears to be at all levels of the GOP. They don’t give back the money raised, no one pushes them on all these hundreds of people working on their behalf and in the GOP.

True, but is it really all that different from so many people in DC?

Holy fk that’s sick.

And yeah it’s not exclusively a GOP problem, though there seem to be more open and shut cases like this among conservatives...extreme conservative ideaology tends to shelter this stuff, i.e. various church scandals, and other extreme movements. Sure makes the ones bleating about Democrats being a satanic child exploitation cult look stupid.

Don't forget John Weaver, former McCain advisor and Lincoln Project co-founder.

Jim Jorden stood by while the collegiate wrestlers he coached were being sexually abused.

Yes, that list of almost 600 Republicans - people specifically working to advance the GOP’s agenda, not just regular voters - suggests that there is something deeply awry in the GOP. I would argue that their political philosophy, which is based in ignoring people’s feelings and needs for whatever the GOP wants to do, results directly in the kind of people who think nothing of traumatizing a child for life.

Think about it: the GOP has known, for decades, that “trickle down” or whatever nonsense they’re calling their economics philosophy, doesn’t do anything for anyone, and that people at the bottom of the ladder are being broken by a lack of access to a thousand different things, but they don’t care. If it accrues more money for the powerful GOP at the top, they don’t care how many people are hurt, how many lives are shortened and made more painful. There is a commonality of thought there.

Yeah. There’s a reason we hear about this stuff happening in close-knit conservative communities more often.

This is so true. Put eloquently in The New Republic: "Millions of reasonably intelligent voters... believe or claim to believe anything that furthers the objective of keeping conservatives in control of this country forever." Including that every Democrat and Hollywood celebrity is drinking the blood of babies when 600 of their team are the guys who have been caught with their pants down.

Because they know deep down what they’re doing is wrong, so they seek out a community that, in theory, tells them how wrong it is so therefore might help keep them in line. Only it doesn’t.

I actually think the psychology is a bit different. These perpetrators are usually born into these communities and are victims within it. The community protects itself and perpetuates the abuse.

There are sick people everyone. Only one side protects their own sickos. And it isn't the Dems.

Absolutely horrific. I am so sick of the hypocrisy of Republicans harping on family values. This guy was making anti-abortion rally cries--and he was watching infant rape videos.
