This. I will never understand the media's and people's obsession over this particular case. It's nothing but a ratings thing at this point.

I don’t either but I had never seen child beauty pageant pictures before and found the sexualization of those poor children vile.

Or Hispanic children? Blacks aren’t the only ones who the media doesn’t care about.

Hasn't DNA evidence ruled out all members of the Ramsey family, which would include the brother?

I don't think it was mom or dad who did it, but they know who did. As pp mentioned I have heard precious mentions of the children having accidents all over the house, some could contribute this to stress of dealing with a mom was sick, but when viewed through the lens of their daughter being overly sexualized and how she died, to me appoints to abuse/sexual abuse happening in the home, and possibly the parents allowing others to abuse their children.

And personally, them never being investigated before means nothing, wealthy people often get by with abusing their children for longer periods of time, and having previously worked in a peds office in a wealthy community I can say sexual abuse is very common among the UMC .

If you don't like the topic of the thread leave. IF you have other cases that need attention feel free to start a thread on them.

It's far more common in our culture overall, than many of us ever want to believe, and that would include the umc but in terms of both parents equally likely as perpetrators I would want to see stats. I think stepfathers, uncles, male cousins, male neighbors, etc. rates exceed maternal abusers though of course they exist too. The mother did have a trauma survivor feel to me so it is not unthinkable that it could have been her. It's all deeply sad and i also suspected the brother.

Mothers are guilty of sexually abusing or allowing others to sexual abuse their children all te time, they often get away with it because people like yourself are reluctant to believe a woman/mother can do such a thing, and she is allowed to claim her husband/boyfriend etc made her participate.

As for the brother, all male family members were ruled out so that includes the brother.

I personally don't understand why so many latched onto the brother theory. Yes, he was odd, but I suspect one might be odd if their sibling was murdered at a young age and your life and the life of your parents essentially became about the murder. It's also normal for siblings to be jealous and there probably was some favoritism going on, but none of that spells murderer. The murder itself was also fairly complex for an 8-year-old boy.

I think people just didn't want to believe white umc parents much like themselves could be capable of murdering or being involved with the murder of their child, much more palatable though far less likely for them to be the long suffering and protective parents of a psychopathic 8 year old. Good television maybe, but doesn't go with what we know of the case.

Yes

In the end, it just doesn't make sense. It defies common sense to imagine a stranger entered the house and navigated it in the dark to JB's room and to the basement without lights and without anyone knowing. And the note has been strongly connected to Patsy, yet there's no other clear evidence. It's bizarre.

But dna clears them even if it doesn’t bit make sense. Science.

Unfortunately crime isn't like csi. The dna here is a red herring. It neither excludes nor indicts anyone. Per LE it's basically assumed brother was responsible... Maybe accident, maybe not, but clearly both parents involved after the fact.

No. The DNA could be touch DNA or from some prior incident if they hadn’t been washed.

Again, there was dna under JB’s fingernails. It didn’t match anyone she had been around.

The majority believes that the brother did it and the mom covered up. The brother had social processing issues, or whatever you want to call it. He could have displaced anger, mis-expressed anger, easily. If he pushed JB (there was talk about brother having had pineapple, yet it was in JB's system, so she could have taken some of his, and he could have been irrationally angered by that, and pushed her) and she hit her head, she could have died, not that that is what he intended, but that is why people say the mom covered up. He was probably prone to outbursts. Did he look normal to you during interviews? C'mon.

I am glad that the original cops daughter is keeping the case alive.
