Putting Dog poop in other people trash bin

Don't leave your garbage cans on public property - put them in your yard, not in the alley. That will solve 95% of the problem.

But that's the point, if it's govt property, everybody gets to use it within reason. No they cannot trespass onto your property to use it but if it's sitting right there on the street, then yeah.

I’m not in DC, so I’m curious about this. If the cans are government property, how can they require a private citizen to take any responsibility for them? In NYC, your cans are your property, and you can be fined if you don’t deal with your trash properly.

Dc doesn't require citizens to be responsible for the city's trash cans. You are required to dispose of traah properly though. Call bulk pick up of a large item. Sung throw away prohibited items. That kind of stuff.

Yes! There's definitely am overlap of the people who complain about poop in their came and the people who leave their cans out 24/7 and have them block the alleys and sidewalks.

I would put a sign on the trash bin. It's something like "Do not put dog poop in the trash bin. You're on candid camera. Watch yourself on Nextdoor tomorrow."

If I'm a ways from home, I will put dog poop in a full trash can, and I will sometimes if I am really far from home put it in an empty can. However; I won't put it in a can that says "please don't put dog poop in our can" or something like that. I recall there is one cute sign, "We love your dog but not his poop! What is the consensus on dropping poop (bagged) in a large construction dumpster/container?

There are a lot of renovations underway in my neighborhood, this seems reasonable to me.

Wipe a bit of dog poop on here. Whoever it is will do it only once more. Just clean it with disinfecting wipes the night before trash day.

Where do you have to purchase one?
In MoCo, you just have to go to the county's website and order one free of charge.

In fact, I just ordered 3 new recycling bins and one new garbage bin for free, that will be delivered on the next recycling/trash day.
