You mean the cockamamie laptop story so full of far fetched conspiracy that no other media outlet besides the New York Post would touch with a ten foot pole? So brave. |
The widespread attempts to censor it are what made doing it brave. It shouldn’t have been, but it was. -Habermen hater |
| This is a really weird thread. |
The media is not obligated to report on baseless accusations. Funny how that story miraculously disappeared after Election Day, just like the marauding caravans after the midterms. |
Haberman pointed out the many flaws in the story Maggie Haberman @maggieNYT Things that are sketchy in NYP story on Hunter Biden - why wasn’t this in Ron Johnson report if it’s been in possession for awhile? When did Giuliani acquire it? Giuliani has been everywhere on the but this has been kicking around since late last year and unreleased till now? |
Yes, but she added those comments in follow up tweets after getting roasted when she initially retweeted it from the NY Post. She could have provided her comments without retweeting the story which only served to amplify it, unproven allegations be damned. |
Agree. Seems like a Twitter insider thing. |
love DCUM insights. |
| I resigned from twitter, but my guess is the Nate Silver thing is just a twitter pile-on. |
| I think the Dionne Warwick thing is a bunch of Millenials who think an 80 year old woman can't tweet for herself. |
| Maggie is obnoxious, self-absorbed and tries soooooo hard. She’s a public relations hack masquerading as a journalist. |
Thanks for posting this. The article doesn't mention that there was a really twisted racial aspect to the original recommendation for the second wave of vaccine. The committee making recommendations to the CDC recommended not to vaccinate elderly folks before frontline workers. The reason given was that the cohort of older folks, who are at highest risk of death from Covid--like 90 times more likely to die, are disproportionately white and in the name of racial equity these older folks should not be prioritized. Because of skin color. Nate Silver and others pointed out that the committees own data showed more people overall would die this way, and Douthat pointed out how crazy and discriminatory this was....https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/19/opinion/sunday/coronavirus-science.html (See "working document" linked in the Douthat article--verbiage in red lettering in charts near the end was used to justify recommending that essential workers be vaccinated before the elderly, even though it meant more total deaths.) And this is why we shouldn't worship experts. Because they can be working outside their wheelhouse, and they can be wrong, ethically/morally confused, and advocate racist policies. Pretty shocking stuff. Kudos to the journalists for calling these experts out, and to the CDC for ignoring the bad advice when making the priority recommendations. |
Awww. You poor little baby. What did Maggie say that made you cry? |
This is the “other side” I see on Twitter. |
