What’s the controversy with 1) Maggie Haberman; 2) Nate Silver and 3) Dionne Warwick?

Also, Nate has a terrible record on discussing politics and policy. His quantitative methods could be worse, but they could also be better. All of this is to say: I can believe he spent four years in Hyde Park studying Economics!

She’s also about as painfully NYT as it gets and that’s a serious problem in its own right.

I like her insights/reporting on Trump. I think she gets it right and she's no sycophant when interviewed about him.

This. Feel free to criticize the nepotism that helped her get her job, but the people who think she's pro-Trump are waaaaay off base.

She is unbelievably thin-skinned and petulant on social media, beyond defensive is her standard setting. I can’t agree with either of you on the merits.

Nepotism? Thin-skinned? Petulant? Those are all positives for a NYT career!

Ha! Jokes!!

Why don't I see you performing your bit over in the Parler thread? Cat got your tongue?

I happened to catch Joy Reid's interview of Kamala Harris yesterday and this was mentioned. People are allowed to have their personal reservations about the vaccine, of course. But I think some are frustrated that she used a public platform to express her opinion on that, particularly since she is not a scientist or public health expert. The last thing we need is further distrust of vaccines among the Black community which has been hit hard by COVID-19.

I felt her controversy was from something longer ago.

Her dad was also an NYT columnist. She's nepotism personified and is obsessed with fame and going viral -- just like the Kushners and Trumps.

She has written countless bl*wjob pieces about Kushner and Ivanka. And she dangles the once in a blue moon friendly piece to Sr for 4 years of scoops. It's all a charade. Maggie would be an actress if she hadn't been born an ugly duckling.

The nepotism charge is such nonsense. Haberman worked in journalism for 19 years (NY Post, Politico, CNN) before joining the Times. And even those who disagree with her political slant cannot argue that she has broken many stories, and is an incredibly hard worker.

We've gone from "everyone who doesn't agree with me is a Russian bot" to "everyone who doesn't agree with me must be on parler". Unfortunately for you, I actually know a thing or three about the world of the NYT and know almost nothing about Parler (or Russian bots!).

Nonsense? Do you not get that she's almost entirely the product of being from a comically small world? Even if you use the narrowest definition of nepotism, she's painfully the product of starting in the right place more than anything else.

...before joining the Times, home to her father Clyde Haberman’s overpraised column. Get vent. - actual New Yorker, reader and NYT subscriber, and lifelong Dem

She comes across a little insufferable IMO. I wouldn't say she's pro-Trump but she has definitely carried water for the Trump admin on more than one occasion. She tweeted out the Hunter Biden story. She tweeted something the other day about Trump spending the remaining days of his "first term" golfing or something rather which I believe she deleted after she got ratio'd to hell. She's also annoying with her quote tweeting of other media persons/outlets saying "can confirm" etc. Like, thanks Mags, we were all on the edge of our seat waiting for your scoop. There's lots of other examples, thats why they call her MAGA Haberman on Twitter.

She’s a petty, stupid asshole. The Pulitzer came from her co-authors.

Yes, she was exposed to journalism at an early age due to her father. Do you think the daughter of a physician cannot become a great physician? -- or is it always "well she just the product of starting out in the right place". Do you know how many stories about the Trump administration she has broken? Let me know if you want me to list them for you -- it will be a very long post.

Good for her for tweeting the Hunter Biden story. Just because there is a tsunami of corruption coming from the Trump administration doesn't mean we should ignore the puddles of corruption elsewhere.

And are you crazy enough to believe that she tweeted out Trump's "first term" golfing because she think he will get a second term? Rather when you compare the amount of golfing that Trump did with, say Obama, you need to point out that Trump has had one term, and Obama had two.

And I am glad that she tweets out confirmation. The more confirmations a story has, the more likely I am to believe it.

Maggie Haberman is hero of American journalism.
