When you're ordering for delivery, it's wise to order things that reheat well.
Assuming your food will arrive hot is a recipe (no pun intended) for disappointment. |
| Who thinks their food will still be hot if it’s delivered? I go and pick my food up. |
| I will only order delivery from restaurants that have their own delivery workers. It's the only way to be reasonably certain there will be quality control. Otherwise we just go and pick it up. It's not that big a deal to do that. |
| Hey guess what on top of that they'll send me to take a delivery to someone else that's paying $2 do you know why they send your you paid $10 for a delivery someone else pays $2 for a delivery door dash will send me to take the $2 delivery before they take your $10 delivery because the $2 delivery has been sitting there for a f****** hour complain about that that's what you need to do tell doordash to stop taking $2 orders if they can't give someone $5 for a couple miles it's not worth it to the driver the driver has to pay for his insurance his phone his car break down says gas you all don't understand we have insurance too that all comes out that's why we're doing it could be a job but it's not a job it's a rip off |
It’s none of the customers business if they are relying on dashing for their main work source. I ordered food expecting to receive it in the general estimated time of arrival and I should be getting my food hot just as anyone who picks up their own food expects it to be hot. Why should I spend money and sacrifice the quality of my food I’m paying for, and paying for it to be delivered, and paying the tip that goes directly to the driver. It’s a food delivery service I think they should be disclosing that information if their food is going to be picked up before picking up someone else’s order and then sitting in the car while they get a second order and most times your food is also dropped off last even though it was ordered and picked up first which is pretty much guaranteeing poor food quality. |
| Not sure why this thread was bumped, but I’ll add what really pisses me off is when a driver is clearly doing orders for multiple apps. You can see the driver going in the oposite direction even if the app says they should be headed to you. Not cool. |
+1. You want it hot you have to pick it up youself. |
What does this mean exactly? 20%? 40? I ordered from these services for delivery but only from places within 10 minutes drive to my house. 2 to 3 per month. Only tip 4-6 dollars and never have a problem. Always receive the food in same condition and time as if picking it up myself. |
DoorDash, too. If you don’t pay the express fee, no guarantee the driver won’t take multiple orders. |
I am a regular Door Dash user and a generous tipper. Tipping does not guarantee good service or that the driver will not do other deliveries before yours. They do offer the option of paying extra for "direct" delivery now, but I resent paying extra when I am already giving a great tip. I understand that drivers want to maximize their income, but there should be a limit on the delivery area for other stops. About a month ago, I ordered from a restaurant 20 minutes from my house. I watched the driver travel 20 miles in the opposite direction to make a stop before heading to my house, arriving 45 minutes after the estimated delivery window. It was ridiculous. Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in Door Dash drivers making multiple deliveries in the past 6 months? I definitely have. |
| Because it needs to be financially viable for them? |
Every single syllable of this. Get a grip. |
This happened to me the first time I ordered doordash. Haven't done it again. |

Try Uber Eats. You can pay to be the only stop.
And don't call gig workers names. Yikes, that's terrible, OP. Hope you enjoyed your fancy egg dish! |
