M I have two standard poodles – agree that they are very high energy, can be fairly territorial, and you need to be prepared for the grooming. |
Territorial? I haven’t read about that with poodles. |
| Standards can be mixed with small kids. My family has had several. One out of, maybe seven? Had to be re-homed for being aggressive and biting a kid. |
Agree. Our standard poodle was the sweetest boy. Not an aggressive bone in his body. That said, he was very exuberant and that scared little kids. We had to train him not to jump on kids. What helped is that he had an "place" (a cot). We would sent him to his place when we needed him to calm down - such as when someone rang the doorbell. To the person who said SPOOs are territorial. Mine was not at all. IF he got out, he would only wander as far as two houses away and a neighbor could come and take him by the collar and return him home. |
Our sweet girl is from here, too. The Harry Potter themed litter. She is perfect in every way. |
Mine is from that same litter! She is a fabulous dog! |
