Our standard poodle was the sweetest boy. Not an aggressive bone in his body. That said, he was very exuberant and that scared little kids. We had to train him not to jump on kids. What helped is that he had an "place" (a cot). We would sent him to his place when we needed him to calm down - such as when someone rang the doorbell. To the person who said SPOOs are territorial. Mine was not at all. IF he got out, he would only wander as far as two houses away and a neighbor could come and take him by the collar and return him home.[/quote]
