Exactly. If you’re in Fairfax you are most likely living in crappy subdivisions that used to either be brownfields or farms 40 years ago and you think “culture” means MOD Pizza and seeing a Marvel movie with your DOD contractor friends. It’s not the Upper West Side, don’t flatter yourselves.

The Upper West Side hasn’t been interesting in 30 years. To be sure, nova has always sucked.

And yeah, $1.3 million isn't that much for NOVA, but the mortgage still has to be paid. I suppose if he and his wife didn't have any school loans and made good money in private practice for a few years, but he was a court clerk for a few years, where he didn't clear $100k, then a law firm associate, law professor in Missouri, and then Missouri AG, which also pays about $100k. None of that is adding up to a $1.3 million house.

It's disturbing how broad and deep this problem is. GHWB, the CIA guy, claimed to want 'a kinder, gentler nation'. GWB touted 'compassionate conservatism'. My cousin went to/graduated from Rockhurst. It is not a difficult to get in. My cousin is as dumb as a box of rocks.

Having dealt with Sen Hawley, he is not nice. But I have no issues with him buying a home in NoVa.

The boys I knew who were accepted, attended, and graduated from Rockhurst high school became doctors and surgeons, both very academically gifted. This was in 1983, though.

Well, Senate is taken from the Latin word "Senos" which means "old man". Also I think where the word senile comes from. Seems to fit...

No he was not on scholarship and didn’t play football. He graduated in 1991.
