Josh Hawley ditches Missouri for NOVA

Great reporting in here. I also wonder where they got all this money. And this is really weird: “The financial disclosure Hawley filed with the Senate covering the 2019 tax year does not list any real estate holdings as assets, but it does list three mortgages as liabilities, including one tied to the Columbia house that was sold in 2019 and paid off.“

Georgetown is also a Jesuit school. The students in that school have to pass a high school entrance exam in 8th grade. They're smart. The students at Stanford and Yale probably weren't as nice as people in Kansas City. I think it's great he beat Claire McCaskill.

At 40, he's the youngest Senator. That's ridiculous so many Senators are old.

Tim Kaine, 2016 U.S. Democratic vice-presidential nominee, U.S. Senator and former Governor of Virginia and Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is also a graduate of Rockhurst High School. Maybe Democrats and Republicans can get along. Maybe Hawley has friends in Virginia.

My cousin went to/graduated from Rockhurst. It is not a difficult to get in. My cousin is as dumb as a box of rocks.

Having dealt with Sen Hawley, he is not nice. But I have no issues with him buying a home in NoVa.

Did your cousins n graduate from Stanford, Yale Law, and clerk for Chief Justice John Roberts?

Claire McKaskill owned a hime in Arlington during her Senate tears that sold fir just under $1.3M. Why the outrage?

She also lived and owned a home in Missouri. She wasn't a carpetbagger.

ALOT of senators have two homes or more. Look at Pelosi.

I have no issue with following up on this and the legality of it. But it’s super sketchy after the big tech hearing. It’s called-Shadowbanning!

Politically trash the person so whatever they say gets forgotten and yeah big tech gets richer.

Ok, but he doesn’t have two homes. He has one home and it’s in Virginia. He’s using his sisters address as his legal residence, including to vote, even though he doesn’t live there. Sounds like we’ve identified some actual voter fraud.

Senators and Congresspeople used to always live in the DMV (at least much of the year) and the trend towards only flying in for sessions, I think, is bad for bipartisan relationships. When they used to socialize together more, I think it’s harder to demonize the other side. I don’t know anything about this guy you are talking about, but in general spending more time here fees like a positive.

Uh, a carpetbagger went from the north to the south. Isn’t he the opposite?

Then go after him for voter fraud. Clear cut case right at your fingertips.

Looking forward to your investigative reporting on Mark Kelly and John Hickenlooper

Wife was a Supreme Court clerk, professor, and with a law firm. I’m sure they could scrape the money together. Many politicians have two homes. Yawn.

Sorry, according to the “real ‘murica is white people within 50 miles of a Cracker Barrel” rule, most of NOVA is indeed the coastal elite. And most of what is NOVA isn’t in the Beltway.

There are Cracker Barrels in Manassas and Sterling, so NoVA is real ‘Murica.

Exactly. If you’re in Fairfax you are most likely living in crappy subdivisions that used to either be brownfields or farms 40 years ago and you think “culture” means MOD Pizza and seeing a Marvel movie with your DOD contractor friends. It’s not the Upper West Side, don’t flatter yourselves.

It’s an ugly hell hole. But better than Queens or Missouri, I guess. Although I’m not sure about that. Some St. louis suburbs are amazing. And les swampy than this creepy area.

Haha! NoVA is somewhere between Knightsbridge and the 2nd Arrondissement as far as world culture goes. Didn’t you know they have a Founding Farmers?!
