3.5 lb gain over the course of 3 days w/o diet or exercise changing — explanation?

I might be the only woman on the planet who loses weight immediately before and during my cycle. It just started happening when I hit 40.

Yes, this. You’re looking for a problem where there isn’t one.


If you can weigh yourself daily and track your trend line (many apps do this), that’s perfectly fine and healthy. If you’re trying to pick apart your last 3 days over a couple pounds, you need to take a break or only weigh every other or every 3 days.

FWIW, having had an eating disorder, I could and can still stress myself into holding water and perpetuating a cycle of freaking out because I’m holding water and weighing more. Back away from the scale.
