| Pizza will do it - the sodium |
| Water retention and poop. Just keep your diet consistent and one day you will magically lose 3 lbs. Don't over think it. |
OP here. Haven’t had pizza in weeks. Haven’t had anything that I think has a high level of sodium. I believe you all that it’s probably water retention. I just can’t think of anything I’ve eaten that would’ve caused it. |

This is explicitly why you should not weigh yourself every day. I get that it's hard not to if you are concerned about weight, but it will just drive you crazy and make you react to minor fluctuations, which could cause problems in the long run.
How do you feel physically? Do feel bloated? Hormonal? Tired? All of these are much more important factors in assessing your health than a daily and possibly temporary (and small!) change in weight. |
All of this. You are a woman (check) you are getting older (check) you have hormones (check) you poop and drink water and eat sodium (check check check). It could be the humitity in the air if you are a woman. Better questions: Do your pants still fit? Are your bras tight, do you have a little roll of fat squishing over the edge of the band? how is your underwear, is there an overspill of fat around the edges? How is your belly: squishy?? jiggly? solid? something new? |
OP here. My body feels the same. I don’t really feel bloated or anything. I’m hormonal b/c I’m on my period, but that’s really just causing me to be bitchy to my husband, lol.
|
Yes, this. You’re looking for a problem where there isn’t one. |
| I can weigh 3lbs when on my period. Now, given that you don't have bloating, water-weight and hormones...during your period....we can't tell you what it is. We only help human women, not sure about your species. |
|
Well, I recommend therapy! This is some next-level eating disordered!
You know that you ate nothing with high sodium or that could make you bloated? You weigh yourself every single day? You are on your period but you know that even that normally is not this much more weight? JHC woman! Talk about OCD and eating disorders. Maybe you actually gained some weight! And what would be so wrong with some 3lbs more? |
| I just finished my period and I weigh four pounds less than I did four days ago. And about one pound less than I did 9 days ago. Hormonal fluctuations around your period, for sure, not every bodily function can be explained to perfection. |
| I am so in tuned with my body that I can see from a mirror when I've gained a pound. I weigh myself daily too, and I def would have been able to see a 3.5 weight gain from the way my middle section would look. Does your body look different, op? |
OP here. It was definitely period weight ... I’m down 2 lbs now. I didn’t really feel the 3.5 lbs weight gain, but I’m glad it’s gone now.
|
| Well what a relief that we've resolved this very important medical mystery. Keep us updated, OP. |
NP here, but why do you sound incredulous that someone wouldn’t have had any of the things you list? Some people really are very disciplined with their eating. |
| Are you generally healthy? Are you peeing normally? |
