Any reason why not to name her Cosette?

I'm not fancy so the various other reasons for no:
Closet
Close-et...that's how stupid people will pronounce the name.

Other have given you wonderful options. go with one of them!

I don't under stand this:
24601 reasons.

24601 is the prisoner number of one of the other main characters in the musical (Les Miserables). "Bring me prisoner 24601." etc.

Take pity on your child and don’t do it. Give her a solid name that she and others can pronounce and can spell, with no relationship to famous people or stories. Surely there is a family name you can use?

Odette is Swan Lake to me--doesn't avoid the reference issue. (Plus I think it's ugly).

I kind of like it and think it can transcend the musical. That said, my old neighbor had a dog named Cosette.
