Lol it’s basically soccer. This will be a good chance for your kid to work on fitness since futsal seems to be where the kids who aren’t in shape enough to play high-level soccer really shine! |
Thanks. I went back to the email and started clicking on all the links and found the one that took me to the google document with that info. Very helpful. Have a good one. |
Basically soccer? Ok, youve just relieved yourself of any credibility. Is Cricket basically baseball so why play baseball. If rugby basically football so why play football. Dont comment on things you really dont know anything about |

Did that fool say futsal for fitness?
so high level players play futsal for fitness so they can try to keep up with high level soccer players. Now that is insight that I have never heard. thanks for sharing that what an idiot |
No he said that kids who aren't fit enough for outdoor soccer play futsal. |
Also, I think he is saying...if indoor futsal is cancelled and you are moving it outdoors, why not just play soccer? That isn't a foolish question in my opinion. I agree with you that my kid enjoys futsal and we used to play it year round but we don't have those opportunities as much anymore and he looks forward to winter futsal. |
That's not what pp was saying. Work on your reading comprehension, idiot. |

"This will be a good chance for your kid to work on fitness since futsal seems to be where the kids who aren’t in shape enough to play high-level soccer really shine!"
I must be reading this wrong along with the original guy. The poster is implying futsal allows a kid to work on fitness as they are not in shape enough to play high level soccer |
Need to read the comment to which he was replying, for context. I believe he means that if there is no futsal, then maybe they will just play normal soccer outdoors as a replacement for futsal. The extra time playing soccer, rather than futsal, will be a good chance for the kid to work on fitness since futsal is only for kids who are out of shape (according to the poster) and the kid will be running soccer distances at a time when he normally would be running futsal distances. |
| I have one child trying out for travel futsal, and one who wants to do rec. The info ASA sent out references a rec futsal league but no info on what it will cost or how to sign up for it. |

The St. James is holding another player ID session for futsal tomorrow night (Saturday 11/7). They will be playing indoor futsal at the pretty awesome St. James recreation center.
https://thestjames.sportngin.com/register/form/582926014 DATES + TIMES - November 7th 6:00-7:15PM - Boys & Girls - 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 7:30-8:45PM - Boys & Girls - 2000, 2001, 2002. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 |
We tried out here and may ultimately accept a spot due to the niceness of the facility. However, as a warning, the tryouts are not what you would expect if you are used to Alexandria. They have kids from those age ranges all trying out together, separated by gender. It worked out fine and my child was offered a spot, but it was sort of jarring for her during the tryout. It is tough for a 2011 girl to defend against a 2007 girl. |
| I find the "practice player" option offered by ASA to be pretty appalling. Pay $550 but only play in games if a "real" player is not available? No thanks. |
Yeah, I assume that they of course take all that into consideration when watching the players. I also have a younger child who was playing against older kids in some of the brief scrimmage matches. But he has older siblings so he's used to it
