Uh, I really don't care either way (my kid is not doing futsal this year regardless), but I was trying to explain, dude, that outdoor futsal courts are a theoretical option if people care that much about futsal. BTW, you might want to learn what resilience actually means before dispensing your astounding wisdom to others -- it does not mean simply accepting disappointment. Somebody did not teach you well growing up and you are simply passing these mistakes on to your children. Resilience means bouncing back from setbacks (like bans on indoor sports activities) by finding other means of achieving your objectives, whether with that particular activity or others (that is the old improvise and adaption part that you seem to be missing, sport). Hopefully you actually learn from this experience instead of simply accepting that you are wrong. |
Well, yes. And my kids chose to put that time into more individual practice and working in their own game. That is resiliency. A plan to come back stronger. Futsal may not happen- do let’s find other things to keep up their game. |
Not the PP, and not interested in debating resiliancy. But, futsal ID will happen. It will be outdoors. I have discussed with Will Hanna. I don't know if there will be as many teams as usual. |
NP here. I heard at try outs last night there were going to be outdoor practices for November and December and then ASA would re-evaluate. No idea if there would be games. Typically there is the Richmond tournament in early December and then an Alexandria/DC one in early January, and then weekly games start. I was also told the pricing would be cheaper (hope people understand futsal is a separate cost than travel soccer). I heard this from other parents, nothing official, but I have heard from more than one source. so who knows. I just want transparency. If ASA doesn't know, then said they don't know. Because I am already hustling to find alternative sports to fill the gap. |
If the pricing is cheaper I am cool with that. I just want my child to play and have fun. Futsal is his favorite sport. But I can't invest $700 for what they are offering, per your description. So hopefully the price will be lower, my son will get a spot, and it'll all be a go. |
Good luck to you. Hope it works out. |
agreed. good luck. |
Why not just play soccer? Do they shutdown soccer in Alexandria over the winter? |
|
Stupid question
Why not play Cricket or rugby or ... let me help you with the answer because my kid loves the sport. loves it more than soccer and wishes it was more established but its not so we look forward to this time of year so its available and other like minded skilled players can compete in a sport you dont appreciate or understand Seriously what kind of stupid question is that |
You sound like an angry person. Maybe you should get your mental health checked. |
| There is new info out today. Something like $550 for 2x a week practice and some games and scrimmages (about 1x a week) and the alexandria hosted tournament with the possible of more tournaments (and more $$) if that remains a possibility, but a lot of figuring things out on the fly because of covid |
Where did you get that info? I got the email from Katie Brooks but nothing re price and tournaments. |
You sound like an asshole. Maybe you should get a colonoscopy. |
There was a link buried in the email for Futsal ID FAQs, but i can’t seem to share it in a nutshell, it said $550 and this: Here is a general outline of the projected Futsal ID Program schedule: November-December First half of season 2x training sessions per week (approx. 6 sessions) 2-3 official outdoor match days (approx. 1 per week) January- February 2x training sessions per week (approx. 20 sessions) 8-10 league games in the ASA Outdoor Futsal League 1-2 outdoors match days Futsal Cup tournament hosted by ASA (outdoors) Potentially 1-3 tournaments (approx. 4-15 games) |
Nice. That’s the exactly what I expected. Please let my kids experience that environment. So much fun on the sidelines... but it is all about the kids? |
