Private & Independent Schools

In terms of selectivity (i.e., most difficult to get into) All are excellent schools by any standard:
Tier One: Georgetown Prep; National Cathedral; St. Albans; Sidwell Friends Tier Two: Episcopal; Georgetown Day; Georgetown Visitation; Holton Arms Landon Tier Three: Bullis; Maret; Stone Ridge Tier Four: Gonzaga; St. John's; St. Andrews; Holy Child; Holy Cross; St. Stephens/St. Agnes |
| Seriously? Visitation second tier? Someone else is high on dirty snow. |
| Thanks 23:48! That is really helpful! Also, where would you place Potomac? |
This is not accurate in several ways. Maret is Tier Two at worst. Gonzaga is Tier Two or Three. GP is Tier Two or Three. Potomac is Tier One or Two. Simply check their college enrollments. The above rankings are being suggested by a GP booster. Note the difference between GP and Gonzaga. GP and G are rivals in terms of recruits, etc. I frankly much prefer G over GP, but I am not sure entirely sure about that. GP's college admissions simply do not compare to the other schools in Tier One. Not even close. |
| Thanks for the clarification, 12:03. |
|
Tier I: the schools that accepted DC
Tier II: the schools that waitlisted DC Tier III: the schools that rejected DC Tier IV: the schools that are below even DC's abilities |
| 12:21: I am puzzled by your rankings. |
|
T1: Sidwell, NCS, StA (Blair Magnet & TJ, if you include publics)
T2: Holton, St. Anselm's, Potomac, GDS, Maret, Charles E Smith T3: Stone Ridge, G'town Visi, G'town Prep, Madiera, Landon, SSSA, WIS, Gonzaga |
That's because they're not in alphabetical order. |
GDS, Potomac are tier 1. Maret probably is too. Would bump Landon to Tier 2. |

Bumpitty-bump-bump-bump.
Someone PLEASE keep ranking schools! There must be a different way to rank these schools that will give me the meaning to the question of Life the Universe and Everything! |
I wonder if there's some hidden ranking meaning in the word bump.
