My guess, a pissing contest and Trogisgh lost.

Didn’t someone post on this board that ferebee is a sww parent?

hmmm.

Either Trogisch resigned because Ferebee is incompetent or Ferebee fired Trogisch because Ferebee is incompetent. Conclusion:Ferebee is incompetent.

Last week the WTU was touring one of the elementary schools that's slated to open on Nov 9th and they were told to leave the building because it was unsafe.

So...mmhhmm... I'm buying that Trogisch was let go for standing up to the nonsense that's going on around schools re-opening.

Given the urgency of removing him - the only reason should he that there would be harm to children. Given that no one is in the buildings - I can not see the need for DCPS to remove him in this manner and place him on leave

So apparently DCPS has just fired the principal at SWW and SWWFS and some teachers are telling me they think it is because he publicly and openly in front of his staff said that he wouldn't reopen the schools unless it is safe. I see how DCPS is going to try and play this. 😡

That would be record-breaking speed for an HR action. Can't imagine there is truth to it.

DCPS does not care how much taxpayer money is needed to pay out lawsuits. Look what they did to the Principal at J.O. Wilson.

Agree. We don't yet know the full story but there seems to be no reason to immediately remove him and send notes to the teachers, students and parents with no explanation. I am a parent and it's bizarre; there is a temp person in place as of today and teachers were told there would be another interim person soon and then a search for a permanent new principal will start in January. Teachers were told at 11 am; an email went out soon after that to parents and students. Why couldn't they have taken a few days to figure out how best to handle this?

He is.

Like when Rhee got rid of the Principal of her daughter's school

That’s not how government/school HR works. If this was in reaction to something that was going on right now, or very recently, he would have been put on leave, he would not have been fired. HR stuff takes a long time to play out in government - especially for a tenured principal. This is more likely the final stage of a process that began a while ago. I doubt this is COVID related at all - and certainly not due to immediate safety concerns.

Post cites several sources that it was related to speaking out about safety.

And if DCPS doesn’t care about lawsuit settlements, they can fire whoever they want, with a plan to settle for cash instead of paying out a severance.

Or are we ready to change the narrative a bit & say that maybe folks like the WTU and this principal are actually looking out for your kids?

That's been obvious to me for a long time. I trust my kids teachers and usually their principals.

Parent here. I choose my kids’ teachers side. They are great. If they’re fighting with the chancellor and mayor then I am fighting with the chancellor and mayor. And I will let my council members know.

The letter to parents did not say he is on leave. It did not say fired either. It said removed immediately.

Brief summary. He was fired. A few people from DCPS know why, and would not tell, for legal reasons.

The article said that he had spoken out about safety. No one said that was why he was fired. People are making assumptions and connecting dots without the full story.

This. Out of respect to the principal and the school community, stop speculating and spreading false information.
